What is jamies thing?
From what ive experienced he seems like a close range zoning character, but I wanted to know if jamie can be used in a more slug it out fashion like one can do with a shoto, or in more simple terms can jamie be very aggressive?

Jamie is a momentum based rushdown character. He starts out having to play a more defensive, pokey style until he can get his drinks. Once he has them, he shifts into a very aggressive character who tries to overwhelm you with frametraps, tick throws, and safejumps. When he's got his drinks and he knocks you down, he can quickly snowball that into a win. Even just getting one drink really opens up his offensive capabilities.

He is pretty good at playing footsies too, though I don't think I'd say he's as good at it as characters like Ken, Cammy, Luke, or Juri. And obviously not having a fireball hurts his ability to play slow a bit, though the fact that he can drink at any time makes it so that his opponents can't really play defensively against him either.

There are many ways to play Jaime.

One of those ways is playing the close neutral game as he has many moves that excel in neutral. Jaime is not a long distance or zoner character.

And Jaime, like all characters, can be played as aggressively as you like.

He doesn't have any projectiles. Jamie usually starts off the round playing more reactive and passive until he gets 2 drinks (matchup dependent if he has enough space to do this or not). He gets new moves with every drink level and some of his most important tools are unfortunately not available at round start. Once you have 2 drinks you can start going in more and loop safejump pressure thanks to the special Bakkai that you unlock at drink level 2. At drink level 3 he unlocks the best command grab in the game and at drink level 4 his palm strike becomes even more powerful.

He also does less damage than every other character until Drink Level 2.
His damage scaling starts at 90% instead of 100% and increases by 5% with every drink level.

His combo damage is generally on the lower end unless you land a good hit and he struggles against zoning.

He excels at corner pressure once he has enough drinks. He has good neutral buttons and is not very susceptible to random DIs because of his multihitting attacks.

His level 3 non-CA super is also the only level 3 super in the game that allows you to combo after. You could just go for max damage but you can also use the opportunity to mix your opponent up with a restand or burn them out by comboing into DI.

Jamie has access to his safejump at all drink levels, he can do it with light DP as well. They're both +42.

Jamie's thing is spamming his infinite fullscreen blockstrings until he chips you to death. If that doesn't work, he can just cancel any hit of the infinite blockstring into a throw and strike/throw you to death.

Better than you ever will lol

Also, I thought tournament results didn't mean anything anymore? Funny how that instantly changes whenever you want...

Yeah? and??

I've entered 4 street fighter tournaments and the best I've done is 1 and 2. I never said I was good so why the deflect?

I asked how the guy did in tournament play because I haven't seen him around you weirdo, haha

Since Jamie is the subject, I just wish his SA/CA was shorter.

It's pretty much faster to alt+f4, load the game again and get into another match rather than waiting for the whole thing to end.
