the chipotle thing:

this can of course change in the future.
I'm not sure how " Earning " it through a paid battle pass is fair ... I mean its not illegal or anything but what I'm saying is that they use the word " Earn " to make you think it can actually be unlocked for free like Frost In Mortal Kombat 11. You could just reach chapter 4 in the story to unlock her for free instead of paying . That is earning something .
Paying cash , or Paying cash for a battle pass is still paying and not " Earning " as they claim. If what you say is true and you must buy a battle pass then they need to update that text , or omit it.
Someone has a job.
They earn money in their job.
To do their job they had to pay for transport to get to the job.
They had to pay for clothes to dress for their job.
This job requires certification: they had to pay money to fund their education to get their job.
Conclusion: Paying money beforehand does not invalidate the word 'earn', so your argument is incorrect.
I'll give you an example. I'm an athlete with 25yrs of experience and have won multiple titles and medals . I didn't buy the medals , I earned them by showcasing my skill set through hard work and years of working on my craft. You could make the statement that I paid for the medals by signing up for the tournaments , however not every individual who pays for said tournaments will get the medals . So there is indeed a huge difference between earning something and purchasing something.
Even still in my case i was presented with two options via blue text in the menu that told me I could pay for fighter coins , or earn them via rewards . To give me a " reward " Implies that I'm being rewarded for something. Typically in video games you are rewarded for beating some level , or completing a challenging task. If you are indeed just making a purchase at the end of the day then what is the point of telling me to either pay , or earn it ?
The overall point is that the text in game is misleading . Many games will allow you to " earn " something by grinding vs paying money and they give you the option. Ex: MK11 - you can buy fatality tokens , outfits , or krystals to unlock in game content . The 2nd option is to " earn " it by playing the game. Ex2: Apex legends : you can buy and heirloom, or " earn " it by getting enough points and placing into higher ranks and lobbies . Get more kills to earn more red crystals and unlock champions vs paying cash hence " earn ".
So this terminology via the video games are used by devs in the industry so since we are talking about a video game and this is a common thing .... how could my " argument " or statement be incorrect ? Its not.
As long as you only purchase pass when you reach level 30. You can have have all the premium pass with only one 250FC purchase.
Or by completing a battle pass.
You spend 250 fighter coins on the premium reward of the battle pass and when you complete it, it gives you back 250 for you spend on the next pass essentially.
