[PETITION] Option for NON-CIMENATIC CA's / Level-3 Supers
I can only speak for myself; but, the cinematic supers in SF6 are far too long, and lose their lustre after the first half-dozen times you see them play out... That's whether you're dealing them, or being on the receiving end. Even in streams, I see people pressing menu buttons, minimising screens, and generally disengaging the game when the cut-scenes in question play out. For a game that hasn't been out for two months, that's a sure fire sign of people getting sick of seeing something over and over. Compounding it, is that most save up for Lv3 supers, instead of using the lower level variants -- making the probability of the cut-scenes appear, that much higher.

So, to fix this, I'd like Capcom to add an option for non-cinematic level-3 supers. How it could work:
• it's a togglable option
• online, if players have opposing settings, the setting is decided by RNG
• the non-cinematic supers play out as the lower level supers do -- camera angle changes therewith, in real time
• alternatively, universally, cinematic supers only play out in full where they are used as the coup de grâce / win a match or round (remaining real-time otherwise)


The less grating that the game experience can be made, the longer people will stick with the game. Seeing the same, canned, non-interactive cut-scene supers, even multiple times per game, cannot be anything but mind-numbing to anyone not committed to an insane asylum.

Nah, the person who wants to see the cinematic should get priority. I bought this game and I want to see the cinematics I paid for. Maybe something like "if both players press start during the cinematic it skips to the end" would work.

Also, animation only on kill seems odd. Level 3 animations are the most annoying when you already know it kills but have to sit there and watch the animation anyway.

Not that Capcom is going to care about this petition in any way.

yeh you can get a 15 sec full screen hot-pockets ad in place of the super while the opponent watches their super.
its win win.
you dont have to watch the super
the player that does want to watch it gets to.
and capcom makes ad revenue

I would love an option to have lvl 3 Supers non-cinematic like lvl 1 and 2. Idc about the length though.
Problem is they need to do a lot of camera trickery to make the Supers look good. They would probably look very glitchy without that.

That's actually a pretty good solution.
Kinda like in MH or games with cinematics, all players hit Start to skip it.

The problem with this is that not all supers leave you in the same state, so the game would have to predict that state and skip accordingly, not to mention do all the damage ticks the super does in that single frame or couple frames. It's a lot more work than it's worth probably.

Just take a drink during the cutscene, it's not that big a deal and you get hydrated, OP!

The LVL 3 CA cinematic is important because it rewards the player who landed his CA for his evaluation regarding risk/reward and his decision making and also is a huge confidence boost. And vice versa for the other player just the inverse. It affects both the game itself and the mind games going on in a match.

But to you everything that the game does right is somehow wrong and every time only you have the "perfect" solution for an nonissue.

as the years go on people just getting more impatient. they are all about 10 secs long. is that really too much? ; /

ima focus on juri's swag Feng combos instead of her optimal's so i can just juggle you for a good 30 seconds while i do a 60+ hit combo lol

who knows maybe you'll find it impressive instead of tedious as it requires execution :P

whats your opinion on UMVC3 and getting opened up and watching all 3 of your guys just get combo'd for 50 secs of watching?

Yeah they're trash. Way too long and corny. Even the player who landed doesn't want to watch that crap. We just want to get to the next match. Who in the world wants to see a 50 minute long CA after they put in over 100 hours into the game? It's played out.
