Can Someone Explain the whole Mods and DRM situation?
I keep seeing conflicting statements.

Capcom wants to get rid of mods because [insert X number of pathetic excuses here].

As of right now, mods still work for SF6, as long as the mod is up to date for the current version of the game.

This ended up being an outright lie. If DRM is going to be in SF6, it won't affect visual mods in any way.
People who keep claiming otherwise are children who can't admit they took the word of some idiot on the internet and made fools of themselves.
Just enjoy the game and don't think about it.

Capcom recently posted a video where they said they consider mods to be cheating and harmful to public morals. Then a few days ago, Capcom released an update for Resident Evil Revelations fixing DLC and adding Enigma DRM. Some users reported that their mods didn't work anymore and came to the conclusion that Enigma must be a program Capcom put in to stop modding, even tough Enigma doesn't really prevent modding and it's common for mods to stop working when games get updated. That didn't stop twitter users and youtubers from making conspiracy theories about Capcom's evil plan to destroy the modding community because of a lewd Chun-Li mod.

That is leaving out that they said they acknowledge mods can have a beneficial effect to a game's reputation but that they can't turn a blind eye to mods that could sully the image of the game. Either way that talk of theirs ended with a very non-committal statement on that they'll continue to track down cheats and harmful mods without really making any blanket statement on stamping out modding as a whole.

Next time, before you buy a game, find out the minimum system requirements to play it comfortably.

If I had to guess the dev team is down with the mods, corporate, less so. The tug of war continues.

I looked at the current system requirements for the game and those when the game was officially announced. Nothing has changed.

You do realize that these additional programs just can't make the game unplayable, right? I'm going to run the game right now and see if I have a stable 60 fps.

Edit: which is to be expected - stable 60 fps.

Also no new DRM was added in this week's SF6 update.

Capcom release a patch for RE Revelations to fix some old DLC. It broke Steam Deck support(they already fixed it tho). Some stupid people on twitter said it was because they want to remove mods or some stuff like that, pointing an old DRM that almost every old game has and never had some problem with mods. That's it, they aren't going to remove mods, they didn't add DRM. They just said they don't support mods because they don't want to get associated with those thristy mods, everything it's and will be the same. I think next time they'll think better about fixing some old games, because people can get really dumb so easily.

Capcom is testing the waters.
