People who complain about Zangief are quite funny. Literally NOTHING about him is broken.
He's at the bottom of the roster. I bet you're a Ken or Guile or Juri too.

You can't combo into his command grabs, including his Super 3, so no, if you're in hit stun the grabs WILL miss.

Block stun is a different story.

It's the most difficult super in the game to land for the reason that it can't be comboed into and you need to be right on top of them. It's very difficult to get near most characters.

No, you can still jump it in all of those situations. You don't need to actually be in the air, as long as you did a jump input and you're in prejump frames you can't be grabbed (but he can airgrab you if he predicts it). You can't be grabbed during blockstun, hitstun, or wakeup frames, so you always have a chance to dodge it. If you throw out a move that minus and you get punished with level 3, that's your own fault. Gief's hardly the only character who can punish negative moves with a super. Gief's level 3 has a 6 frame startup, so don't just mindlessly throw out moves that are -6 or worse when he has super on deck. As long as you've got at least 1 frame where you can do something, you can jump.

The key, though, is that unlike Lily and Manon, you need to be jumping BEFORE the super flash. If you see the screen freeze and you haven't jumped yet, it's too late. Meaning if you want to jump Gief's level 3, you have to predict that it's coming and jump before he does it. Gief is very much a traditional grappler that lives on mindgames and 50/50s, that's just how the character works.

That means nothing if you're new to the game, it absolutely can be frustrating to fight any grappler because they have simple gameplans and victory conditions and you probably don't know how to abuse the things they're weak to. So Gief just walks into your game and kills you in like 3 grabs and you're like "what the ♥♥♥♥ am I supposed to do against that", he appears very strong even though he isn't.

command grabs in SF6 including zangief's level 3 are 50/50s. You have to guess with a jump or back dash to avoid or punish them.
IMO its op, which is why most command grab characters don't have DP or zoning tools.
Honestly i have no idea why people even enjoy playing sf6. With drive rush and neutral skip moves, there are so many 50/50 situations now. Once street fighter was praised for amazing neutral, but sf6? has as much neutral as MKX, trash game

Also if Zangief misses L3; totally bananaed, you have like an eternity to punish it

This is true, and if you got caught in a combo that ends in a level 3 it can do even more damage than Gief's grab.

Ignorance is no one else's problem. It doesn't make Zangief overpowered.

Complaining 5350 dmg move when marissa can do 80% of your health is funny and she is faster and got more armor than zangief,hell most of the roster can combo to super 3 that does more than 53%.
