2nd, a used fightstick is the last thing id buy. id rather buy a used gpu after a big mining craze.
8bitdo got a stick for under 100 usd. plenty of options for sub 100 usd around. u can also try to build ur own if it turns out cheaper to get the parts... but based on my limited research, its prolly better to spend the extra 10 or 20 bucks to buy a cheap one.
And, I won't expect to be a anywhere near aN EVO quality player, but as long as I can have more fun . I just watched a couple of YouTubers AllABoutTkk and JoyStickNYwith tutorials on how to use stick .
In regards to buying a used stick, the only thing I'd suggest is to re-grease the stick after purchase with a suitable grease as it may not have been done in a while. Sticks are generally very durable (much more so than a controller) and most of the components can be replaced. Even if you buy new, you'll need to do this occiasionally when the stick starts to feel less smooth.
Yes, but I missed a lot of hadokens with an Xbox controller, and with an F500, I almost never miss. So, to me, it made me better.
Way less forward HP into their fireball with Ryu :D
Who know maybe you could have more fun with a arcade stick or something else, really the fun is by far the most important factor as you can play competitvely with any controllers
So yeah imo you shouldnt hesitate if you want to try new things and please don't buy pre-owned controllers to avoid any bad surprises
edit: i just read your lastest answer, the stick you just picked up is excellent :)
I play far better on a stick than I do a pad. Though I've been pretty lazy busting my stick out for this game and I've been using a pad the whole time, even though it's harder for me. I just don't care too much.
It just comes down to what's more comfortable for you for executing moves and movements. And I use my stick a lot different than almost everyone simply because I can't play with it on my lap. I use a Tupperware bin between my legs when I sit down because it's more stable and I don't have to play like I have T-Rex arms.
If you don't want to invest too deeply, I'm sure you can find a cheap stick for $50 or something. Just expect that (depending on how much you play) the buttons won't last for years of use and you'll have to upgrade later.
