the bonker placement stuff they implemented in 6 doesnt seem to work at all and it makes no sense for you to not derank when you reached the highest rank which a lot of people already reached after not even one month. i think they should have added overall more ranks
overall i liked the "ranking" system in sf4 more. you hat Battle Points for each Char and Playerpoints which was used for pairing you up. should have keept it simple and continue to use it.
That said, it feels easier to climb ranks in this game. Not just because of the de-rank protection on the Gold and Under ranks, but the Platinum players in this game feel like they would be Gold in SFV. I also think you gain more points for winning than you lose for losing in the lower ranks.
Ultimately, for me, the numbers and labels are arbitrary. In a competitive game, I just want to know what the most populated rank is, regardless of what it is called, and reach one rank above that. I don't want to be the best, just better than average.
The skill difference between high gold and plat is also huge, since as mentioned above, everybody just ends up in gold due to how lp works. Then in plat you need to start playing for real (though you can still suck ass such as myself, to maintain it. You just wont rank up anymore)
