Doesn't Parry mechanics kill mix up characters like Kimberly?
There's no point in mixing up opponent cause the answer is to parry or even worse get countered when they perfect parry.
The answer as the offence is to throw the opponent and Kim's throw is scaled down by 10% by default which is the lowest of any of the cast and not to mention her entire kit's damage is held back until she uses her SA3. Her mix ups are resource bound. The more I play, the less Kim's kit makes sense to me in this game.

There's probably a reason James Chen keeps beating his drum about how Kimberly is desperately in need of some buffs. And that half her pressure is fake.

Good.
You know what... every single day, there are 100 posts on here about how "XYZ is broken!" and "this character needs a serious nerf/ buf!" and "this mechanic ruins the game!".

But the argument of characters like Kimberly struggling as a result of things like her scaling and mix-ups being less powerful than past games, I think is quite valid. Kimberly is a great character... in concept. But she needs some modifications if Capcom ever wants her to see serious play, and its really unfortunate.

My hope is still there but it's also the devs that put OD can in her kit which is the most useless move in this game. She needs a full rework and the core system gotta go to be viable.
Online wise, people can't react or won't lab her so worst scenario, Capcom thinks she's OP next to Honda(He's ass too btw) just by the stats and nothing will change into S3.

I don think parry ruins mixup characters at all, just look at Rashids numerous terrifying mixup options. I think Kimberly is uniquely ruined due to bad design decisions and poor balancing.

Currently in SF6 there are a good 5-6 characters on the bottom end of the roster scattered across all archetypes that have just had terrible balancing decisions made about them. They are the exceptions rather than the norm as the rest of the roster are mostly okay but I am really hoping to see some work put in on that part of that roster sooner rather than later.

it's more of on the design not meshing well, like manon, she needs to dr to pressure since most of her normals are minus on block, need dr cancel so she got good conversion, resulting in really hungry for drive bar and why ppl putting her on low tier

Nah, the heavyhanded nerfs they gave her after the beta is what killed Kim.

Was about to bring up Rashid as well, it doesn't matter that a parry can stuff a high/low when it gets stuffed by strike/throw/shimmy.

Yeah I don't think parry is an issue at all. When I see someone eager to parry stuff it's one of the easiest things to blow them up for.
On paper, parry makes all high/low and left/right mix ups irrelevant, so the only true mix in the game is strike/throw. That’s partly why characters like Cammy and Ed perform so well. Their gameplans already have a huge focus on the strike/throw mix, so they mesh well with the system.

But besides human error, there are systems in place that at least keep parry in check, and I say this as someone that hates perfect parry. Even though you can parry every mix, you at least can’t immediately act and punish them unless you PP. The game’s pushing you to be proactive so you don’t just sit around parrying everything

I think Kimberly has more problems than just the parry system, since that alone doesn’t stop her pressure. The fact that she’s so meter hungry for her mix and damage I think is the bigger problem with her

Some champs are better in Modern, some champs are better in Clasic and some champs are good in both.
Kimberly is a Modern Champ, Ed is a clasical champ, Luke is Modern/Clasic (I am Master in Modern and Clasic Luke) because is perfect, Akuma is a clasic champ, Honda is a Modern Champ, Zangief is a Modern Champ, Manon is a Modern Champ, Marisa is Modern/Clasic (depend if you want free special defense or grabs or if you gonna focus more in 1 kill combos, who only Marisa and Akuma can make). Blanka is a Clasic Champ (and broken), Ryu is funny but is a Modern Champ, dont exist any advatange to take here in Clasic, Ken similar, because the debuff of damage dont exist in Modern Kens, Chun Li is Clasic (dont try to play here in Modern, i take she in diamond with clasic and i stuck with her in platinum with Modern), Braindead Honda is better in Modern, because you can spam headbutts but not antiair (in clasic honda you can spam anti-air but not too much headbutt).
Dee Jay is clasic, is just horrible play this guy in Modern, Cammy is Modern/Clasic (Because she is broken, with the more ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and incredible broken block neutral in the mayority of this attacks of the game) Bison is Modern/Clasic (the same with cammy), Jamie is Modern if you wanna some day get a drink and is clasical if you wanna someday make some damage (is a dead champ and i am diamond with jamie) , Terry i dont played (but i wanna played) so i only can said in my opinion like my rival, have so much safe moves, AKI is just a meme champ the most closed to a Dan in this game and Rashid is just broken (Avatar Battle included was when he start like a fabric of rashid) in Modern/Clasical/Dynamic/Avatar Battles, this tornado is just something who can win a entire game with push a buttom and if we dont include their literal infinite combo pression. Juri is basically dead, and you always get Engine for win a battle.

You know what it means. Some people call them Champs, other call them Toons. It's fine.

What’s not fine is thinking modern Ryu is better than classic

I have more reservations than that but at least I have the support to talk about Ryu
