Because for the record, tier lists don't mean "A is higher than Z, therefore Z will always lose to A". Nobody who understands tier lists thinks that.
Maybe they made sense pre-SF6 when it was a huge unbalanced mess with 1-3 characters stomping the rest of the cast. But SF6 has a lot of universal mechanics and even semi-universal framedata that makes such lists obsolete.
Just ScrubTalk especially when they downplay their mains and over-exaggerate the opponent's..
Do I have to work for my money and go an extra mile to win? If yes, you drop a level. If not, you rise one. And so on and so forth.
So characters who have gimmicks don't tend to reach S or A ranks unless they REALLY have something that's way too good to negate such gimmicks.
Since straight-forward characters without ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ are easier to play they usually reach higher tiers.
That explains why Ken is, like, God and Jamie is, well... Jamie.
However there are lots of other questions involved. That was an example.
But I agree that if a player is REALLY good they can win ANYTHING with ANYONE.
And if the player just plain SUCKS they're ALWAYS gonna lose, regardless of the character.
I mean, I'm not any good with Ken and Cammy, so I'll suck if I'll play with them. But on the other hand, I've played with Manon a lot, so I'll obviously do a lot better with her than I would with those two.
Doesn't change the fact that Ken and Cammy are top-tier, whilst Manon is way, way below them.
