Street Fighter™ 6

Karin should return in Street Fighter 6
Looking at her usage stats from Street Fighter 5, most months since 2016 she was in the top 10, and even in the top 6 a lot of times. She was even more popular in some months than Chun-Li.

In what world is 24 characters bare bones? That's basically on par with where SFIV was a year after release. It's more than what SFA2 had to offer. And making characters definitely hasn't become a faster process since either of those games were made.
It's bare bones in terms of how many characters are in the franchise at this point and how many are missing. Tekken 7 had 37 characters at launch, while Tekken 8 had 32.
Well yes, Bamco recycled their mocap data between 7 & 8, allowing them far more rapidly churn out characters than Capcom did where they basically threw everything from V overboard and have a fresh start for 6. They weren't lying when they said that four characters per year is the limit of what they can comfortably do while maintaining the base line of quality they want for each character. And that is not even accounting for other factors like differences in development team size, office culture (ie. whether or not they do crunch), graphical detail, and so on.

And sometimes people appreciate quality over quantity, because by all accounts SF6 seems to be maintaining a larger player pool than T8.

I don't get it how Street Fighter recycles less than Tekken. That just doesn't make sense. Both games develop their characters the same way in every new game. It's not true that Bandai puts less effort in at all. Tekken characters get new moves and animations each title.

Well all it takes is one look at SFV is to realise it wasn't exactly a pretty game. Also it was outsourced to Dimps when Ono was still showrunner.

With a new caretaker of the Street Fighter franchise and moving development back in-house it kinda makes sense they wanted a clean slate.

Also I'm not sure where you get the idea I said that Bamco put no effort in. Asset recycling is a clever thing to do that more devs should do... when the assets are worth reusing. I wouldn't call anything in SFV that personally, and seemingly, neither did Capcom.

Capcom does just as much asset recycling as Namco.

When the assets are good, yes, what part is difficult to understand here?

What was recycled for use in SF6? Besides the retro stickers and jukebox (which every big series should have anyway)

How does Tekken recycles more than Street Fighter? The point is that this is a fake excuse to make why Street Fighter launches with much less characters compared to Tekken. Capcom just loves to abuse their greedy tactics, since that's what they are doing since Street Fighter 2.

Then prove to me that Bamco redid all the motion capture for Tekken 8 for the returning characters, or prove that SF6 actually does reuse the SFV animations.

They redid a lot of moves, but even the ones that they didn't still look amazing. They also added a lot of new moves to the characters. Compare how many moves each character have in Tekken compared to Street Fighter.

Sakura and Makoto are lame and boring, not Karin.

Whatever happened to just going "I don't like this character" without needing to try and make them sound factually bad characters?
