Break the armor.
Counter with DI.
Throwing DI all willy nilly will get you ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up once you start running into people that are ready to deal with it, and are comfortable with their characters cancel windows.
DR/DRC is substantially more oppressive than DI, it's not even close. Mind you I'm fine with both mechanics as they are part of what makes SF6, SF6.
No, DI does not break the game.
There is virtually no risk present in DR and it almost always results in an advantage for the player initiating it. The game is still designed around that which is why PP and Drive Reversals exist.
Way better than the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ v-trigger system, arguably better than SF IV's meter system. Really the only other mechanic set I like more is the -ism stuff from Alpha as it can fundamentally change the way characters are played, and allowed for more expression.
DI is free on Gief if the Gief is braindead.
