Fans like me since SF2 will buy it anyway, I know there's ken, ryu, guile etc... in it.
I think it's more the fact that having Luke be one of the strongest characters, if not the strongest in the game by a considerable margin had more to do with them nerfing him (and only SLIGHTLY) than them "forgetting" about Luke.
Ryu on the other hand, was strong, weak, mid. Still the most complete SF character in the world (wonder will anyone see the referrence...).
That said, Ed and Luke both are top 10 picks in the three lowest ranks so I think it's safe to say a decent number of folks just like their designs as those are the least informed players.
