Recommendations for leverless pads.
I've been playing on controller for my entire life since the arcades died out but I wanna try leverless to see how that turns out for me. Anyone recommend any brands?

I saw a video from Sajam that said they were all basically the same outside of pricing and sizes/weight but I want more opinions on it. I'm eyening a "Junk Food" Micro LITE one right now because it looks small and easy to carry but also pretty good quality:
https://junkfoodarcades.com/products/micro-lite-pc-steam-deck-switch?variant=44412572991771

For some context, the reason I'm switching is I have some issues with my left arm/hand due to an old injury, tapping buttons will be a lot easier than having to flex my thumb. I noticed it became increasingly difficult playing specifically as Ryu with some of his combos and it got kinda painful. I'd also drop inputs a lot because rolling a DPad from back to forward to do a DP is pretty unreliable (or I'm bad, probably both).

If you think stick pads are better by all means also recommend some of those, the point is to not hurt my hand so a stick will do just fine as well. I just wanna see what works.

There's two types of hitboxes afaik. Ones with sanwa buttons like hitboxarcade, and those with key switches like the razer one. I have a hitboxarcade one and pretty happy with it, but I am curious about key switch ones cause I play rhythm games on keyboards. I believe most are easy enough to switch the switches in if you prefer like Akko Silvers or something. I would look into that if you decide to go with key switches. Dunno if that helps.

I'll look into that, I've seen hitbox stuff before but never.
I'm not much of a keyboard nerd so I've never given a lot of thought into key switches and stuff but I do like the sounds a lot of these pads make, from what I saw they're pretty easy to customise so I might get into doing that as a side hobby too. Who knows.
Thanke~

Oh yeah I'm not planning on spending that much, that's why the MICRO looks the most attractive at the moment. Small, light, and only $120. At the end of the day I'm still not sure if it'll be what I stay with.

I've got a Furin Arcade (custom), an Okiboard, and have ordered a Haute M-16+, which will give me more buttons for macros like DI, parry, throw, taunt etc.

Leverless controllers are great.

Haute 42 T12 or T16, heck, any Haute controller, really. It is not too expensive, it is thin and light and you can hotswap better switches into it as long as they're chov v2 low profile from Kailh. Don't get baited by things like the OG Hitbox. things like aluminum cases + some microcontroller shouldn't cost that much.

Haute also offers other variants that are compatible with cherry MX Style switches, but those are smaller controllers.

I use one and love it and you can also sadwich your own art between the acrylic plates. They also have aluminum versions of some of their controllers and all of them are very affordable. Even more so if you use Aliexpress coupons. Though they're on Amazon too so if you want to avoid Aliexpress then you can do that.

Lol leverless players trying for any advantage they can. Sad how seriously people take the game.

How so? I'm asking for suggestions cos I'm switching controller type, because using a DPad hurts after a while. Why are you so bitter? Every post I've seen from you on this forum is either some salty crying or something dumb and toxic. Grow up, sweetie. It's not that deep.

I've seen some on Amazon for real cheap but I don't trust Amazon with their random no-name brand copies of products. I like that Haute ones have cool little LCD screens you can put images into and stuff like that.
Right now I bought the MICRO pad from Junkfood to try it out, see how that feels. I like that I can basically put it in any bag and carry it around but I also like how the Haute ones seem to be more hefty. I might buy one of those to mess with it eventually.

Neat~
The one I got is a 12-button one since even on controller the only shortcuts I have are the defaults for DI and Parry. I like to have those on reaction. When I get a bigger Haute one to mess with I'll see about a 16-button ones, having a few of the annoying inputs on those might be fun.

I got my T16 from the official Haute store on Amazon, you can also join their discord first and ask for links. It's foolproof, really. They look cheap, but they're not. You can program that LED screen with static art, change keybinds and customize your controller in many ways. 100% recommend it.

Before getting it I used a Fightbox F1, Sanwa switches. That is nice too but not nearly as neat looking as the Haute. I also think mechanical switches and sanwa switches are on a similiar level once you get used to either.

I'mma be honest I didn't realise they had an official Amazon store.
I saw Sehawei and I was like "oh yeah that's some random company" lmaooooo~
I'll look into that more too.
I was actively looking outside of Amazon. I'm super smart.

From what I've read (Just now) ONEED and Sehawei are official distributors.
Something a lot of Chinese companies like to do is list their items under several names.
That way when someone looks up an item they see several listings for the same thing from the same company under different names instead of competitors.
That's so silly. On the bright side I am seeing pretty good price variety on that end, so maybe it's okay for the consumer at the end of this gimmick? Either way, my dumb ass couldn't figure that out.

I just checked and I got my from the Sehawei store. Amazing price for 80ish bucks btw. Pretty insane if you think about that most controllers cost 150ish.

I use them because they feel more comfortable than anything else.
They give me less pain than a stick or a regular game pad. Specially for longer sessions.
I adapted to playing on them easily because I played fighting games on a keyboard for almost a decade.

Yeah! When mine arrives i'm expecting to have a pretty nice time.
I played MUGEN foreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeever as a kid and that was straight keyboard only. This is kinda inspiring me to build a Mugen again but so many of those sites are defunct now.
The nostalgia :o
