You can look into these combos and setups but if you’re starting out, he can be played like a regular shoto and get strong results from just that. His pokes and fireball game are all great and his BnBs still yield pretty good damage. The execution-heavy stuff comes later. Akuma has a large skill ceiling. When you’re starting out, he doesn’t feel all that special compared to Ryu/Ken. But he has his advantages over them
And you'll be able to play on Akuma.
Don't spam mp, mp target combo, work on hit confirming the second mp. The first MP leaves you at +1 if blocked, but the second hit makes the move unsafe unless spaced and canceled out of properly.
Try not to spam HK from down town, you'll porbably get DIed into oblivion.
5mk is an awesome pressure tool, it's reach is deceptive and you can cancel into any of Akuma's fireballs to keep your turn.
Day 1 BnB:
5mp,5 mp, 214hk (super easy to execute good damage, good oki)
5hk,5 mk, 214lk, 2hk (not overly difficult, fantastic oki)
Corner Damage
hp, 214pp, hp... ender of choice (you use any heavy special move, also works great with Level 1 and Level 3 super, can be optimized for stupid amounts of damage)
Except Tokido went back to Ken because Akuma his HP is to low vs reward.
Learn to shimmy.
Spam grounded fireball.
Boom instant master. He's absurdly strong and his game plan is probably the easiest of anyone.
