Either way, according to CatCammy's stats SF6 still has 1.4 million active players as of last month, so I'd say the game is in a very healthy state.
I don't recall many japanese people.
Evo sure seemed pretty popular in america too.
Seems like people just mostly like the game to me.
That's exactly what it is.
Ain't no way to estimate the concurrent player count without the platform % breakdowns.
Surprisingly, for T8 it was 53% are on PC.
These are just popular franchises. It helps that SF6 had a really good launch and is a good game.
MK1 is only at around 1K players because it's a dumpster fire of a game. MK11 almost has more players today, which is just horrible for NetherRealm.
most funded pro scene
more high profile players
it's a no brainer why sf6 won, it had a good launch and it works unlike Tekken 8 which has been a technical mess since day 1, never been more disappointed with Namco because Tekken 7 was good
And before you say this is because of secondary characters, they only include each player's best character into the data. And besides, considering I can still get a match in under half a minute at 3am in Europe, a region that historically hasn't been big into fighting games, I can believe that we still have well over a million players active around the globe.
I know Europe is big on Soulcalibur, less on other fighters. I'm in South East Europe, and regulary find matches. Even with SFV still found in a few minutes.
Don't know, this stats seems quite a bit inflated. If learning statistics taught me anything, it's that's not accurate.
I just wish the game dropped with at least 25 characters, I get why they didn’t for both profit and balance reasons but it gets annoying when I dislike fighting half the cast lol
Oh and actual costumes in game, capcom greed knows no bounds especially with only two colors being available if you bought the standard edition
the game director did a great job for this generation of SF
