Rank reset?

Seems my master rank has been reset from 1430 last night to about 1500 which is the standard entrance into master ranks. Im assuming everybody else has also had their rank reset. According to data I could find on this the reset happens when a new season starts. So what im asking is how often do we get new seasons?
