Anyone else with FightSTICK finding KeyBoard easier?
Is it just me?

Just got fightstick, after a couple of weeks I'm not breezing through trials. Then I go back to keyboard, and trials I'm struggling with easy.

I FEEL wasted money on fightstick.. :steamsad:

Anyone else find keyboard easier than stick?

Yes, leverless is easier to use than stick, that's why hitbox became a thing

It's a brand new controller you've literally never used before. You weren't good with controllers when you first held one either.

Give yourself more time.
its just a practice thing and it honestly comes down to personal preference more often than anything. i like using my hitbox since i grew up with keyboard and sticks tend to make my hand cramp a bit faster. I do find that with sticks im a bit more consistent with half circles and 720s esp if im playing guilty gear and they have those 632146 inputs which are really easy to mess up when i need it as a reversal. also stick might make it feel more consistent when you side switch since leading with the index finger is easier than when you need to use your ring finger imo

Fightsticks are completely different type of muscle memory. Most people who use sticks have been doing it for probably 20+ years. It's a legacy/nostalgia thing. Fighting games and arcade sticks are like Mac and Cheese. You should use whatever feels most fun and natural to you. While it's certainly fun to toy around with new controllers, dont feel obligated to. You're starting over from ground zero by switching to a new controller, just keep that in mind.

It took me almost a year to get comfortable with a stick. I think leverless is easier to be accurate and responsive with, so you should stick with that.

I've tried leverless and I fully acknowledge that it offers several nice benefits, but I enjoy stick more and will keep using it. It's just more fun to me.

Fightstick is better for those who played in arcades and have muscle memory. For new players who have always used a keyboard/d-pad is easier to adapt to leverless/hitbox (especially those who have always used a keyboard/mouse).

Use your Arcade Stick to play actual arcade games :steamhappy:. Fight'N Rage, Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise, SoR4, TMNT: Shredder's Revenge of the Dragons are good options.

Using the real thing, especially real buttons rather than playing on keyboard or a controller gives you a much better feeling. Those type of games are actually more fun to play on stick.

Also, playing Zangief on keyboard is really hard unless you play modern.

Real talk - arcade games are more fun on arcade sticks. And don't forget some good sh'mups too!

Well duh. You bought a thing you never used before and expect your mechanical skill from a completely different thing to just transfer?
Thats not how any of this works.
You completely lack any and all muscle memory for the Arcade stick so of course you find keyboard easier.
Only thing that helps here is practice

Thanks folks. I only ever used Vega /Claw in my SF playthroughs. Then for some reason CAPCOM changed him in SFV from charge character to non charge. I've since struggled to enjoy game as I'm looking for new character to main.

I loved playing Vega and was good with controller. I suck with non charge characters. Yet since SFV, no character like Vega. It sucks, what CAPCOM did to him. I THOUGHT fightstick would solve issue and will be good with another character. But not.

Yeah, I spent hours in training lab, did upto advanced combos for Kimberley. Then got tossed online easily. It was demoralising. I suck with non charge characters. I only ever played charge on top of using controller -PS controllers.

Yup, I HAVE been missing so many circle moves, so gave up on RYU and likes of fireball. If CAPCOM can bring back SHADALOO characters, the OG. Can get back to controller. Stick was harder than I THOUGHT.

+1. Thought it would be more fun, I didn't spend much time in arcades as kid.
