Cant make up mind if should buy sf6 or tekken 8?
New to fighting games, and since theyre both 100$ im not sure which one I should pick up. I find tekkens graphics and theme look really good but sf6 gameplay looks much more "normal" and replayable. Any suggestions?

try their demo and make your own decision
but remember only buy from sale. The next summer sale is coming in 1 month, so let wait for that.

SF6 has the best netcode hands down if you want enjoy fighting online experience. Better avatar costumization and other fun factor like fighting with avatar player, playing the arcade retro game. Better gallery variation artwork from various artist and concept art. Less grind for battle pass. And the battle pass mostly for avatar related, not the characters unlike tekken 8. So you can skip it entirely.

The only downside SF6 is need more time to learn the basic game mechanic, less characters and costume compare to Tekken 8

Try the demo and then maybe wait for a month or so. A lot of online retailers (Fanatical, Green Man Gaming, Game Billet, etc.) have big sales that typically start near the end of June (and Steam will undoubtedly have one around that time). Since it will also be a full year since SF6 released, I expect that Capcom might have an "anniversary" sale and offer it at a discount.

Tekken 8 released in January, so I wouldn't expect any discounts as deep as SF6 is likely to receive. I like (and own) both games, but I've put more time into SF6 because I like how it plays more than Tekken 8 (don't need to worry about side-stepping in a 2D game).
SF6 is currently experiencing a pretty excellent discount on Humble Bundle Store for the next 30 hours or so... Not sure if that sways your opinion or not.

dude avatar customization in street fighter 6 compared to tekkens character customization is laughable and the tekken avatar one is still pretty good.

Did you even read all my comment? I already said downside SF6 has less character costume. SF6 avatar customize definitely better in every way where it can allow to be adjusted each every part from head to toe to become whoever you want. And even freedom putting and resizing for the accessories

Both are pretty good games for the franchise that it really depends on what the OP likes more in this case. If someone doesn't like Tekken as much as SF then it's pointless to get Tekken and vice versa.

I just took a gander at the T8 steam forum and generally people are complaining that the game is a button masher and doesn't involve a high degree of strategy of skill.

OTH, that might make it a fun game for noobs. SF is punishing when you start.

Good luck.

As someone that played both titles for over a hundred hours and had experience on past entries as well I'd definitely say that the honey moon phase in SF6 lasted much longer. I am NOT a big fan of the drive system, but it feels much better then the current implementation of Heat system.

It's a well known fact that Tekken 8 is much, MUCH more rewarding toward the aggressive players, this is a consensus among PROs and also with the "casual tryhard" crowd, season 2 of SF6 already provides you with more defensive options and seeks to make the game a little slower.

Also, there's basically no resource management in Tekken 8 (aside from a few characters), which makes it easy to pull off Rage Arts and Heat Bursts/Smashers to steal turns and rounds back.

Tekken 8 feels way more scrub friendly than SF6, which is not a bad thing if you want that kind of game. Myself I got tired of it already and will be back to SF6 on the new season.

All in all I believe both games will improve a lot on the new seasons and updates, now it's SF6 turn to shine, but I believe there will be many changes on Tekken later down the road.

Tekken 8 is good but some things need fixing king. I personally prefer Tekken 8.

Better never play Tekken if you're worried about drama. Hopefully, you still have the option to avoid their Steam discussions (and Twitter) and play just fine.
LMAO TRUE
Depends on what you want out of a fighting game. I much prefer Tekken but the current state of 8 I wouldn't suggest buying it right now unless you like to mash buttons & get rewarded for it. SF6 is a actual fighting game that requires more skill. SF6 runs better & has better netcode. The only thing Tekken has over SF6 is the reply feature where you can jump in the replay & try different things during that match you had. Ghost mode is also really cool too but it's only fun if you're really good at the game & make your ghost super strong.
