not until it gets cracked, then it serves no purpose but to siphon money.

people dont like bad implementations of it, at best it increases load times.
at worst it causes performance issues.
people get mad that more often than not, because pirates get the best version of the game for not paying a dime, while the paying customers suffer the side effects for it.
it's also based on a contraversial bad take that pirated games loses you sales, so you need anti-cracking DRM to deter that, however you have to pay big money/a good portion of of your sales to have that TO denuvo, which in the end its a self-fufilling prophecy of "we think pirated copies lose you sales, so lets make sure we 100% lose money by adding anti-tamper DRM"
also, its a gamble. sometimes games take 1 year to get cracked, and sometimes they take 1 week, its extremely random, and it relies heavily on how proficient the crack groups are and how interested they are in doing so.
