I forgot how scummy the MTX shop is
I haven't played in a while and I immediately browsed the shop to see how much it might be to get a character and/or costume... Yeah... my only option is to overpay for almost double the Fighter Coins I need because everything is inconveniently priced that way.

Lowest pack - 250 FCs
Character - 350 FCs
So I'll need to buy the 610 pack instead. That's 260 extra coins.
New Costume? - 300 FCs
How inconvenient that the pack is 610 and not 650.

So to get a character + new costume I need to buy the 1250 pack for about $26. That's a whopping 600 extra coins I'm paying for that I don't need. That's also just short of getting two extra characters or one extra character + costume, if I wanted them.

This actually dispirited me from playing the game itself. :vsskull:

I think we can all agree that premium in game currency is a scam.
Have you seen Diablo 4 MTX shop? Capcom is very tame by comparison to Blizzard that sells you an outfit set for $25 or more on top of base game costing $70 for base edition.

I honestly don't mind DLC, it is a game I have put hundreds of hours into in a year and I want them to keep making content and supporting the game so i will open my wallet on occasion. In game premium currency that makes you overpay for things you want through manipulation of the amount you can buy and prices you can pay is ridiculous.

I don't mind DLCs costing money, but I don't view MTX as DLCs. I feel like those are two separate entities. But at least Capcom's MTXs are manageable. When I see MTX shops in FO76, Diablo 4 or WoW, I start having questions that all have one answer - GREED

Fair enough, but without going over the semantics, or the commodification of art and hobbies, I just think premium currencies should be illegal and whoever came up with them should be sent to the north pole and kept alive through artificial means chained to a rock in a frozen cave with no light for all of eternity.

Oh yeah, they absolutely shod be illegal, I agree. IF they want money, MTX values should be based on real currency values

On this, I 100% agree.

Yep, there's no defending it. I'm super happy they added music from the old games, but the way they implemented it is ridiculous. Separate bundles for each version of SF2, SF3, SF4 and SF5? Excuse me?

That's extremely petty, given how certain songs are repeats between bundles

It seriously annoys me how they can actually get away with such scam.

MTX shops need world-wide regulation for yesterday so the players can buy the EXACT amount of premium currency, instead of more or less.

This has already been known, capcom is just clearly getting away with it because people keep buying them, Obviously if you want a character and don't fall for their season pass ploy, you will have to over pay.

They are doing this to make the season pass look like the better deal when it's not if the characters were simple purchases.

I agree with the posters above me and comment on this regularly. Sadly Valve is really the OG biggest offender with TF2 and Moreso CSGO loot boxes and skins having values from pennies to 1 million dollars for a skin you don't even technically own and is technically illegal since the community market has a cap of 2000USD. CS skins as a whole are valued currently at around 15 billion dollars. Made off people who couldn't even consent yes by being under 21. No one has ever sued them successfully but it's such a huge pile of dirty money and a problem bigger than they or anyone wants to admit.

It's silly to think that it will never be exposed on a grand scale. But it's not just valve but the entire tech industry. The manipulative use of NLP built into the very Ai that has forever changed human neuroanatomy will one day pay heavy prices.

As for SF I find the prices ridiculous and also very fetishistic and not relatable to me at all personally.

To me the problem isn't that they charge money for cosmetics and characters, but more how much they charge for them and the in game currencies that I can't stand. Just let me pay directly for what I want.

I have not. I have been spoiled by Path of Exile and their F2P model that only sells cosmetics and stash tabs, allowing you to complete the game with every class & subclass for free as many times as you want.

But just because Diablo is worse don't make what SF6 is doing much better, especially when we narrow the scope to just fighting games.

So cholera is okay because cancer is worse?

Yes the 610 option for FC coins is specifically there to get you to spend more on coins before you realize it isn't enough for multiple items. That number was chosen to confuse people that don't want to do the math. It's pretty dang evil and capcom should be ashamed.
