Understanding Akuma's story against Gouken

I did not played the old Street Fighter games except 3rd Strike. What I want to ask, is really Gouken died at the hands of his brother Akuma? I searched across the web as I did not seen specific answers to it.

Yeah kind of but then Gouken got better in street fighter 4 because this is a video game.

I dont recall any lore after that of him dying a second time.

They fought and Akuma seemingly killed him with raging demon, but Gouken pulled of the ♥♥♥♥♥ You Thought using an extremely advanced version of zen buddhism, and then came out of his coma in SF4, much to the surprise of Ryu and Ken, who buried him earlier.

I hope I can see this in current SF6 graphics. Surely menacing.

Akuma first killed his master, Goutetsu.
Gouken got angry, but did nothing in that case.
Years later, while Gouken has took Ryu and Ken as students, Akuma arrives and challenges Gouken to a duel. Gouken wins but spares his brother's life.

Akuma got VERY MAD about this.

Some time later Akuma shows up again and gives a Sucker Punch to Gouken who is believed dead by everyone. (This is before Street fighter 1).

in Street fighter 4, Gouken is revealed to still be alive and challenge Akuma. The winner will get Ryu (nice how he has no say in the matter).

Gouken win.

Woah. This means, he's still alive!!! I wonder if Capcom will take him back in SF6 for World Tour story. Thanks for this!
