SF6 designs are great.

One thing I don't like about Tekken and SoulCalibur lately is the overdesign. Everyone looks dressed for Carnival. Too flashy, too many colours, too detailed... The human eye doesn't catch all details, just the most noticeable, thus not always complex means memorable.

SF6 designers understand it and do well to avoid overdesign. The returning characters look great, still very recognisable, none exaggerated. The newcomers look excellent too. Maybe the defaults of Guile, Kimberly and Lily could be better, on the other hand their outfits 3 are fantastic and I'm just waiting for a real price drop to buy them. My personal favourite designs are the defaults of Ryu, Chun Li, Manon, Bison, Ed and Aki.

Kimberly and Marisa are best designed characters from any game in history. You don't have to take my word for it either, just open your eyes and if they work properly you will agree with me, if not, go to the optometrist but have someone else drive you or take the bus.

eh I really like Tekken's "flashy and cool" design. Like yes they are designed over the top but that's the idea. SF6 just looks like plastic cartoon characters that don't know what audience they want. Many of the characters are playful and happy but then some are emotionless with bulging veins but they both share the same cartoon world. And with the music choices it really feels like a game making sudden turns trying to chase after different generation. Again: its identity is wobbly.

What I really like SF design is that Capcom always bold enough to try something new on their aesthetic choice. Tekken are literally just play safe on their design on every series. Not to say it is bad but that makes me kinda bored every time seeing their characters are mostly pretty handsome man and slim beautiful woman whether is new character or not. SF have more different sense of variety in a good way. SF6 has the most peak design. I hate ED and Luke design back in SF5 but turns out I don't hate them in SF6. Damn

Hell, no. SF6 is nearly inferior in every way possible design wise. Only Chun is saving grace because Capcom won't dare to pull MvC:I again.

Agreed. One of the reasons I didn't get Tekken (aside from the poor balancing, and the overpriced price tag for no reason) is because of how generic and soulless most of the designs were.

I actually like tekken 8 on a casual level, but I don’t think there’s ever been a good looking tekken, tbh. It’s subjective but still, Paul’s hair is a war crime.

Personally I liked 5's look more, especially the stages, but 6 is ok.

Tekken and SC really look exaggerated. SF6 is looking good, I like Chun Li and Ryu.

sf was always better at designing characters than tekken. it's easy if you think that there are only two character models in tekken, one for males and one for females. it's more varied in males tho

I agree, to me, Capcom artists are the reference. People also still complain about the music until they will become cult like the SF3 soundtrack.
