You think V-shift-like back dash should comeback?
Parry is nice option, protects you from gauge damage and can be used to block fireballs for free, and a perfect parry is great for taking your turn back. But sometimes you DON'T want to parry maybe you want to make space by backdashing but, if you try you'll just get smacked out of dash with a meaty and into a combo. In Sf4 backdashes has invincibility to strikes and Projectiles from frame 1 to frame 8. since SF5 removed this and now so has SF6. Drive reversal on wake up is not good since if you whiff your -6 and wasted gauge meter and didnt even push back that far. V-shift was great if you just wanted to move back and avoid any wake up pressure at the cost of meter. it should come back but just leave the V-shift Break out. sometimes you want want some breathing room and are willing to spend gauge to get it,

Kind of feel like this is what Drive Reversal is for, especially after its buffs. I don't know the implications this would have on higher level play, but they Capcom seems to be trying for a delicate balance of total BS, and new moves would likely be redundant, useless or overpowered.

We have slime, its too late. The DR is much needed for the half low tiers that dont have OD reversals.

With wake up drive reversal AND parry AND the thread of perfect parry - it's hard to envision a scenario where a V-Shift would be useful.

Do you have any examples on where it would be better or cover a scenario where Drive Reversal or Parry come up short?

They want a get out of jail free card. VShift beats meaty, throw, projectile and shimmy.
