How to practice vs DLC Characters?

I can't afford DLC characters, how am i suposed to practice against them?

Genuine question, as Aki and Akuma seem to be Meta i'm feeling the pain a bit more and i would love to lab against them but i can't even select them on the training room... So is there any alternative to "Just stop being poor and buy the DLC"?

There are fighter rentals, I think you get some from the monthly rewards. So if you pay $5 that is enough to buy the monthly pass, you can claim all the rewards, which includes fighter rentals, and it also gives you enough coins to buy the next month's pass, so you can keep doing it.

Unless they changed the rewards, you should be able to get a couple rentals a month. A rental is only an hour of use though..

Pretty sure the rental tickets are part of the free track of battle passes. So you don't even need to spend anything.

Rental tickets are gone, y'all. Have been for the better part of the year now.

As for your options, well, DLC characters can sometimes pop up as enemies in someone's arcade mode, also you can use their moves in World Tour, where you can also fight them, or you can just hit Battle Hub and find someone using them to run sets with, and learn matchups the hard way.
