If you bought one character stand alone, do you get any discount for the character pass ... ?

What's the point of solo sales if it locks you out of the deal / has 0 benefit, did they do this on purpose to force people's hand ?

I bought Ed solo, but I see no way to ... buy the other 3 bundled, I have to rebuy Ed too basically.

You don't have to re-buy Ed, you could just buy the other 3 with fight coins.

it should work out much the same or cheaper as buying the basic character pass. (depending on what coin bundle you buy and albeit you might have to buy more coins than you exactly use.)

Once season 2 comes out character pass 1 might go on sale (assuming it's similar to 5).

So really it comes out more expensive for *less* to buy the other 3 characters .... This is preposterous design on their part. Deliberately so.
