Current guess is mid tier, his tools are not bad enough to be in the trenches with lily and aki.
What's more upsetting is his kill rush I thought it was suppose to use as an approach for an a opponent who had great zoning like JP.
They should add atleast an invulnerability flag to Ed by the time he Weaves his head while dashing forward that's how Weave works and it's an evade, it's a miss opportunity to attention to details for ED
Kill Rush Forward is only effective for following combos using it to evade attacks is worthless you instantly get punished
Light jab's/cr.light range is so stubby(or at least feels like it to me.) It just feels out classed entirely they push you more into using lk and mk for your main buttons as they are great zoners but if i need something fast to counter i feel i fall shorter on him then i would on luke honda and jaime.His only plus on block normal has a very high hit box so you have to be dead in their face.
Now as a hot take here(please don't kill me) he kinda works and plays like a shoto. His anti air uppercut is twice as slow as ken,luke,and ryu. his frames are 10 start up and 8 active on his fastest and they get slower with more power. While the rest are 5 and 10 on frame and still faster at higher power.
Psycho knuckle for me has been janky maybe it's the net coding or who i was facing (happened in a few games) that it did not blow through the fireballs consistently as i was already moving and got hit about 4 times and the trailer video shows this should not be the case. Then the aftermath of the hit landing has been random to. Hit or blocked i have landed at random distances after being close enough to throw/jab or they both are out of range.
Kill rush(forward) seems like it should work like kens dash but looks like it should work like cammy's hooligan yet it's not even close to either. Checking the character manual in the game they suggest using it the middle of combos but this doesn't feel right with the 2 stage set up it has. Then the suggestion of using it as a gap closer just seems like suicide Since those you would want to close the gap on will hammer you down. Then looking at the design of the move it looks like a defensive rush with the dive down low and covering the head this feels like he should have invuln. like cammy and rashid yet doesn't. It could be argued that kill rush(backwards) should have this window as well but i feel this is fine as is to be fair but forward is just all over the place.
As of the rest of his kit i have had better luck anti airing people with the hk and psycho flicker then the uppercut. Drive rush seems fine to me i can easily pop out a 22 hit combo with it with little effort. This is just a few things i have seen with him.
If he's mid then he, by definition, does not need a look at. That's where characters are supposed to be.
True but that is as of right now people are still learning him and how to play against him. I got a feeling without some tweeks he will go to the bottom of the list like aki honda and lily.

You know he only has one plus on block button and he has to be in your face right? as for his range if you are talking buttons he is average except for 3 buttons and 1 of those is stubby being his LP and his LK, MK are around the range of kens kicks or akis and lily longest button at best.He has no overhead attack either. As of moves he has 2 that have range one is a fireball which is two stages so it's harder to get to and easy to dodge. Psycho flicker is a mid range hit and poke it's decently fast but is not full screen and easy to see coming.
As of the master rank and carried comment some people have no life or just grind and play fighters all day or maybe are just good at them/ have played for 10+ years. As well new characters always climb fast as people don't know the match up and will complain instead of learn. This is nothing new just like everyone saying that rashid was busted and aki was busted in the first 2 weeks and we see where that went.
