World Tour Mode... How successful was it?
I think the main goal of World Tour Mode was to introduce new players to Street Fighter. Was it successful in doing so? Was World Tour Mode better off as a separate game from Street Fighter 6?

Imo World Tour mode was fun but its not the main thing that would draw fighting players to sf6. I would say it can/did help draw new players/casual players to street fighter but that was really it. I don't think world tour mode would be better off as a separate game from SF6 as its best to be a competitive game for sf6 to be a viable game. I'm glad there is world tour mode/single player stuff but it still needs the multiplayer aspect to be viable.
From what I've read, people don't like World Tour that much. But I'm personally having a GREAT TIME with it (even though I'm far from being new to the Street Fighter series).
I'm Lv 100, I've made all (side)quests, I've mastered all Styles, I've opened all chests. I've already spent 95+ hours in WT but I'm still farming NPCs to get 100% of cloth parts.
I would like more things to do and places to explore (Masters Foundation Building, North sector of Metro City, Downtown of Nayshall, ...) because I truly love this World Tour.

Been playing SF since SF2 and I loved World Tour. Great way to ease new players into fighting games and it's a great companion piece to the multiplayer aspect of SF.

I loved World Tour. I put a little over 40 hours into it before I touched online.

It was successful in that it got players to try out the game. I think the idea is neat but the execution was kind of lackluster. The AI is too dumb for the battles to be fun and it uses old-fashioned game design where all the progression is locked behind mindless grinding. You end up spending hours doing boring stuff so you can get to a few minutes of interesting stuff. Its not worth it, in my opinion.

It is undebatable the mode is basically to attract people who don't know how to play the game. With that being the case, it's basically a crap game mode if you know how to play at all. Seriously you can grab the npc 7 times a row and it will probably work, it's a joke.

I love World Tour. It was the feature that lead to me purchasing the game (along with the majority SF2 roster). I want more color dye options and better clothes.

A Separate game for sure!
Look, now we have to wait more than we should for new content comes for SF game becouse developers are busy working and thinking how good need to be the next Woke TOur mode pink Dress they need to create to be sold for WT players.

Players that for sure arent looking for Street Fighter game as we know, but for a The SIns 2.0 game.
Now we pay the price becouse of it, 4 characters since launch, and it is so low, no more good content or skins, or anything. Every content they do spin around World Tour, and Street Fighter game are too much basic and empty with a low number of selectable fighters to play.

World Tour inside Street Fighter 6, were the worst decision Capcom could make, they shoul take the guy who had the idea of World Tour and invite him to create a "Yakuza 2.0 Street Fighter World TOur separatedly as another game.

It felt bootleg to me. Compare this mode to something like a Yakuza game.

Every feature ever added to a fighting game that wasn't part of the core fighting mechanics has felt bootleg. It's not a versatile game format at all, everything is sacrificed for the core 1v1 gameplay, or you end up with a ratchet fighting game. Yakuza doesn't have 20+ main characters with backstories that are completely incompatible with forming a cohesive combined narrative, and doesn't have to waste a second worrying about balance or maintaining a perfect 60fps at all times.

Fighting game movies are bad, fighting game animes are bad, action games spun off from fighting games have all been bad. Fighting games are only good for fighting, they're too specialized for anything else. They're so specialized that they keep their own separate controller industry alive. I'm glad World Tour was playable on my expensive arcade stick, but it didn't feel good. I don't regret the time I spent finishing it, it was okay as a one-off experience, but I wouldn't do it again, same as how I'm totally over the Mortal Kombat cinematic story format. Don't make me alternate play modes, make me characters.

My only issue whit world tour is that its not really a Story mode.
Noting that happens in it has any effect on the Overall of SF lore or story so far.
Its more like a side story like what its like to be a nobody fighter in a world of street fighter.
Im not even sure the game has a true story at all kinda hoping they add one in a later update.

Well if you consider the fact that only 10% of people that own SF6 completed WT, I guess not that much. People don't buy cosmetics for avatars, even the event ones. Wouldnt suprise me if crapcom ditches it for SF7.

ah yes, that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ fighting game anime called Street Fighter II, resulted in nothing good and left no impact at all, not like the entire Zero/Alpha series stemmed from it and not like it set an overall tone for this entire series, haha

to the topic at hand: I personally loved the World Tour mode, its story, and the way it allowed for the main characters to show more of a character; unfortunately it probably didn't get enough pretty numbers in order to placate top managers who never cared about making a good game in a first place

people are claiming that "only core gameplay matters" as if there was no The Street Fighter V Launch Incident; the "characters are just functions" also says hi, how's MvC doing these days?
