I'm Lv 100, I've made all (side)quests, I've mastered all Styles, I've opened all chests. I've already spent 95+ hours in WT but I'm still farming NPCs to get 100% of cloth parts.
I would like more things to do and places to explore (Masters Foundation Building, North sector of Metro City, Downtown of Nayshall, ...) because I truly love this World Tour.
A Separate game for sure!
Look, now we have to wait more than we should for new content comes for SF game becouse developers are busy working and thinking how good need to be the next Woke TOur mode pink Dress they need to create to be sold for WT players.
Players that for sure arent looking for Street Fighter game as we know, but for a The SIns 2.0 game.
Now we pay the price becouse of it, 4 characters since launch, and it is so low, no more good content or skins, or anything. Every content they do spin around World Tour, and Street Fighter game are too much basic and empty with a low number of selectable fighters to play.
World Tour inside Street Fighter 6, were the worst decision Capcom could make, they shoul take the guy who had the idea of World Tour and invite him to create a "Yakuza 2.0 Street Fighter World TOur separatedly as another game.
Every feature ever added to a fighting game that wasn't part of the core fighting mechanics has felt bootleg. It's not a versatile game format at all, everything is sacrificed for the core 1v1 gameplay, or you end up with a ratchet fighting game. Yakuza doesn't have 20+ main characters with backstories that are completely incompatible with forming a cohesive combined narrative, and doesn't have to waste a second worrying about balance or maintaining a perfect 60fps at all times.
Fighting game movies are bad, fighting game animes are bad, action games spun off from fighting games have all been bad. Fighting games are only good for fighting, they're too specialized for anything else. They're so specialized that they keep their own separate controller industry alive. I'm glad World Tour was playable on my expensive arcade stick, but it didn't feel good. I don't regret the time I spent finishing it, it was okay as a one-off experience, but I wouldn't do it again, same as how I'm totally over the Mortal Kombat cinematic story format. Don't make me alternate play modes, make me characters.
Noting that happens in it has any effect on the Overall of SF lore or story so far.
Its more like a side story like what its like to be a nobody fighter in a world of street fighter.
Im not even sure the game has a true story at all kinda hoping they add one in a later update.
to the topic at hand: I personally loved the World Tour mode, its story, and the way it allowed for the main characters to show more of a character; unfortunately it probably didn't get enough pretty numbers in order to placate top managers who never cared about making a good game in a first place
people are claiming that "only core gameplay matters" as if there was no The Street Fighter V Launch Incident; the "characters are just functions" also says hi, how's MvC doing these days?
