How to eliminate screen tearing without Vsync enabled?
Hey, I would not choose to enable V-sync since it increases input lag which is discouraged in fighting game.
The FPS is locked at 60 during gameplay so I changed the monitor's refresh rate to 60Hz for smooth gaming experience, and this does well.
However, there's one minor issue which is screen tearing that occurs due to no Vsync enabled. I think it's a normal issue, isn't it?
I would kindly ask for the solution. Would using a G-sync/G-sync compatible monitor can solve the issue? Are there any another solutions?

What's your maximum refresh rate? I play at 144hz with V-sync disabled & without G-sync and get 0 screen tearing.

Is your monitor bad? (pretty objective question so this means really nothing), you shouldn't be getting screen tearing. For me at 144hz, v-sync disabled and no G-Sync capability I get no screen tearing. See if your screen has a FreeSync capability or something. Maybe a bad cable, or you're unlucky lol

It's a 75Hz monitor. What is your monitor's model?

Don't know if it's bad. It's Acer VG240Y 75Hz. What is your monitor's model?

good news, your monitor supports free sync, make sure its enabled.

also, there is no need to lower your monitors refresh rate. your monitor supports a maximum refresh of 180. set it there

No. The model I am using has maximum 75Hz. Free Sync is always on but I am using Nvidia GPU.

I play with vsync on in just about every fighting game. Standard double buffer vsync on modern hardware introduces lag between roughly 8ms and 12ms, which is less than a full frame. By having it on, your machine will at worst add a single extra frame of delay as it runs up all of its input lag factors, and at best will show zero measurable difference in delay compared to without it.

Your framerate isn't divisible by 60, so I don't know if vsync will fix your issue or not. But it won't actually hurt to try.

ah ok, set it to 75. but your version still has free sync, which works on nvidia GPUs.

On your nvidia control panel:
3d settings, manage 3d settings. On the right side, choose the tab "program settings".
Select street fighter and add it.

Now, down below on the options:
pick your monitor technology
preferred refresh rate: highest available
vertical sync: off

My suggestion is to keep the native refresh rate of your monitor and if you really want the game to run at 60fps, cap the maximum framerate in the nvidia control panel.

Running 60FPS game in 75Hz monitor just does not feel smooth, that's why I changed the refresh rate to 60Hz. In addition, my monitor is not Gsync compatible so the link does not help.

I told already. Vsync works but I don't want to enable it.

Try using 'fast vsync' instead of turning it completely off. Should have no input latency impact either.

you have a variable refresh rate monitor, you just need to enable free sync (not g sync)

as the name implies, your monitor will dynamically match whatever framerate the game is running at. thus avoiding the screen tearing issue

the link I gave your was to enable free sync. not g sync

free sync does the same thing as g sync but runs on any GPU

Um, havent we needed vsync, gsync or freesync active to avoid tearing since the beginning of time? Vsync has always sucked.
