Best character for a fighting newb/beginner?

SF 6 is my first fighting in a decade and I consider myself to be a major noob in fightings in general. Which character should I main first which is beginner friendly?

Just pick whoever you think is cool (or cute, if that takes your preference), if you want to play this long term you might as well pick a character you'll want to stand looking at a lot. The game in general is accessible enough that you can learn both the character and the game at the same time. You could always go for the safe all rounder picks like Ken, Luke or Ryu, but you'd also be playing some of the blander characters~

And modern is always there for you if you're worried about learning complex move lists.

If you wish to win from get-go: Ken, Marisa, Juri, Dee Jay, Honda, Luke.
If you wish to play for long term enjoyment: Chun, Cammy, Ryu.

at low level ALL characters are OP because nobody knows how to deal with anything

just pick someone with special moves you like.

Luke and Ryu are super easy to use in the demo. It's like they wanted to give newcomers a good impression. Not everyone is that simple.

Play whoever looks cool! The more you like a character the more inclined you are to stick with them. If you don't care too much about that, my advise as someone who's first fighting game was SF6 as well: Ken, Luke, Marisa, Juri, Ryu, Cammy should get you started and will let you learn some solid fundamentals. I'd stay away from zoners or gimmicky characters in the very beginning.

Pick Luke or Ryu, play untill you understand how to utilise basic game mechanics (inputs, anti-airs, punish/whiff punish, anti-zoning, and of course basic of framedata), than pick anybody you want.

Dont worry about what characters are easy or hard. If you like the character enough, you will learn them so pick who looks cool
I personally was drawn to Juri who is considered hard but I have fun even though I suck

Would say Marisa. The reason being her anti-air command not tied to the typical 623(Dragon Knee) input which people tend have trouble with and people jump hella lot till up to gold imo.
Anyway, would recommend picking a character that looks/interest you the best. You'll learn a lot along the way.

Don't pick Ken, way too strict for a beginner with all his specific timing and framekillers.

Ryu, Luke, Marisa are those who are really easy to use also Guile is easy to use if you like charge characters
