Best fightpad for me?
Hi there,

After spending a bit of time to see if I would get SF6 on ps5/xbox/PC, I finally decided to get it for PC. I'm now looking for the best controller for me and would love some advise from people who use fight pads (not interested in fightsticks!!).

On Xbox 360, I used the "Mad Catz Street Fighter IV Fight pad" which had the face of the character on the controller. Burned through 4-5 of them and loved them. Decent D-pad and the 6 face buttons were very easy for me to use.

I'm now looking for a controller that's similar to that ^ one or can come close to the comfort I had with it.

I checked out the "Hori Fighting Commander OCTA" pad, but after some investigating I came to the conclusion that the D-pad is just awful and this one ain't it. After investigating further, I came upon the "8bitdo m30" and saw some real positive talk about it. Can anybody confirm this is indeed a good controller, or recommend a good one?

Thanks!

You want a controller that's durable, has a good d-pad, 6 face buttons and 10 *unique* buttons so you can have 4 macros on the shoulders/triggers (very useful in SF6).

I had an 8bitdo m30 but had issues with the pad sticking. I ruled out Hori due to all the reliability isses and settled on the PS4 Power A Fusion fightpad (avoid the Switch version, it doesn't have 10 unique buttons). I wanted the Xbox version but they don't sell it in the UK for some reason. I love it, it's basically a Saturn pad clone.

I had the Retrobit Saturn pad, it has a firmware issue that causes the battery to drain when it's in standby, doesn't have 10 buttons and the shoulder buttons are very flimsy and wouldn't standup to fighting games.

Nope.

But there is somebody still using a mad cats street fighter 4 pad at my local for street fighter 6 and he's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ animal.

So use it if you got it.

I had 7 Madcatz Fightpad SD and the quality is super trash. I switched to DS4 and I am very happy about that gamepad because it delivers high precision on the dpad which lets you play very clean.
