Why no SF3 characters?

It just doesn't add up, and its a big reason I quit the game early on. The game is supposedly taking place after 3rd STRIKE but none of the characters in it are here!? This would be excusable if the characters in this game were as bold and as unique as they were in SF3, but more than half of the roster is from SF2. Ridiculous. I want to like this game but the roster is just so boring

Id like to see grown up Sakura and Karin, Karin was pretty decent in 5

Ibuki would have to be past 20 at this point so I wouldn't worry about the schoolgirl thing. Also the SF6 roster already skews heavily masc so I'd definitely welcome the three women that SFIII had coming back at least.

I wouldn't even be mad if they picked him as a boss for a World Tour questline, though.

It's the most baffling thing, cause I swore SF3 had an open ending. I want to know what happened after the events of that game and it's characters.

6's plot is just a bizarre case of wheel spinning with some exceedingly boring new characters. I blame them deciding that it HAD to be a 1:1 time period with the IRL year partially but the result is there's no follow up on 3, the thing everyone wanted, and then just kinda not deciding on what they wanted to do so like the entire cast are kinda just...bumming around not doing anything other than Juri and Ken, kinda, who are at least a bit involved. Even most of the new characters just...aren't involved really aside from showing up like once.

There's more, like they all have their arcade modes which seem like they're supposed to be canon this time around but even those are mainly "How did they get here" or small personal adventures which is AOKAY with me normally but like...maaaaybe they should have saved that for a game where they're actually advancing the plot or at least participating in the plot as well.

The result is that the game feels very bare bones. And those bones are good, joining SCVI on the create a character storymode was a good idea because that legitimately does help you avoid *needing* to do the character juggling and roster bloat that inevitably ♥♥♥♥♥ up a lot of fighting game plots, but the cast should still be involved in that. And with how inconclusive this game ends, kind of like it's at its half way point rather than finished, it's just weird and doesn't mesh. Plus a lot of the roster choices are weird. Yeah we want a few of the classic characters from SFII the franchise is never gonna get away from SFII entirely, I get that and am absolutely okay with that, but considering how much of this game is also a gigantic Final Fight loveletter it's really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ weird that we don't have a single member of the actual FF cast other than like, a few special custom create a characters. The Andore Jrs and everyone's favorite hispanic weeb show up but like, no Poison, no Cody, no Haggar, so on and so forth, instead we got really boring slop like Kimberly.

i think if they changed elena's healing super like maybe let her gain grey life that slowly builds up if you dont engage her enough it could work
