Why no SF3 characters?

It just doesn't add up, and its a big reason I quit the game early on. The game is supposedly taking place after 3rd STRIKE but none of the characters in it are here!? This would be excusable if the characters in this game were as bold and as unique as they were in SF3, but more than half of the roster is from SF2. Ridiculous. I want to like this game but the roster is just so boring

Finding the SF6 roster boring is a you problem. That said, since we'll probably get five years of content updates I'd be really surprised if we wouldn't get a single SF3 character by the time the final update comes out.

I would just like to mention that Dan is always glorious and I wish to see him in SF6 eventually as a playable character.

We'll likely eventually see Urien, Makoto, Yun, Yang, Ibuki and Alex. They're the only SF3 characters that really seem to have any popularity.

Dudley consistently places higher in popularity polls, but Alex was the highest used non-legacy character in 3s OE.

Because most of them belong in a generic fighting game. And we where coming from alpha series which actually had good new characters.

But comparing how lame the characters were in sf3 to sf6.... pretty close. Unfortunately.

Yeah it's really absurd there were no SF3 characters on base roster, and there aren't any confirmed yet. Considering this game borrows a lot of the swag from 3rd strike. Really bizarre.

Nobody outside of the diehard fandom knows Third Strike.

Everyone knows the initial SF2 roster.

Do the math or keep staying in your fgc bubble and clap if a pro does something, like a smart little monkey.

I think Capcom treats 3 like the black sheep.

It's conception and presentation was weird, it has a bunch of oddballs who take time to actually like, a weird story, a weird boss with a weird gimmick, a weird parry system... The soundtrack and the animations are glorious, though.

I'd honestly be pissed if they wasted a slot on Ibuki, for example, because of that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Kimberly, though.

Unfortunately they WILL because she's pOpUlAr (♥♥♥♥ Japan with this school-girl hardon, honestly. If she was, say, a dentist, nobody would give a flying ♥♥♥♥ about her).

Now, it may seem different, but I don't hate Ibuki or anything. I even consider her one of the best characters, gameplay-wise, obviously, of USFIV. The issue here is just Kimberly. She's Guy + Ibuki combined. We don't NEED both now but fans will TOTALLY bother Capcom to oblivion and we're gonna get THREE more characters with similar, almost equal, playstyles like the army of shotos. Boring.

Capcom should only bring back Dudley, Makoto, Remy, Hugo and Alex. The rest can sit out on 6.
