Linux "Fatal D3D error (1, E_FAIL, 0x80004005)
Hello all. I've been tryint for about two weeks now to try getting this game to run on my system but I cannot find the proper information (Or maybe don't know exactly what to search for.)

Has anyone else with Linux experience encountered this error at all? Searching for this error doesn't yield me any results.

I have tried using two versions of GE-Proton, the latest official proton AND proton experimental. I've verified the game integrity, I've redownloaded the game itself. I have it running off of my main SSD.

I am on a fresh install of Fedora Workstation 39 running an Intel i9 10900kf and an Intel Arc A770 using the i915 video driver

Running a Gnome desktop on Wayland/Mutter.

Any help is very much appreciated. And if I'm doing something wrong, then please let me know.

I unfortunately have this same issue, not with SF 6 but the Resident Evil 4 Remake. I also am on Linux (Mint), and also am using an Intel CPU (i3-12100f) and GPU (Arc A750). You're the only other person I've seen encounter this exact same D3D error code. I don't know if it has anything to do with Linux or the Arc cards (or both, not tech savvy so I very well may not know what I'm talking about), but our error code seems to be uncommon from the research I've done. It's not that big of an issue since I can dual boot into Windows but it means for the time being I can't play it on Linux. On second thought, I don't think it is the card because when I boot into WIndows it runs fine there.

Any updates in your scenario?

Yes actually. I switched to the Flatpak version of Steam and it begins to run, but when I run the game, it comes up with a Capcom error window and the error code 0x2000000 or something along those lines. (Along with some Wine window).

A bit of progress but still having troubles.

Funny that you mention RE4R, I was having weird issues with RE3 and had to switch it to DX11, so I think the original issue has to do with DX12 and Vulkan, possibly having trouble being found by the game. Try the Flatpak version of steam if you aren't on it already?
