So what's the average MR?
Just hit Master on my first character and immediately fell to about 1450 MR, which makes me feel a little demotivated, to be honest! I'd love to know where I stand compared to the average Master rank player.

There are a lot of people with sub 1500 MR so I wouldn't let it bother you, also it gets reset every month or so. just do your best.

Tell yourself you got to Master, a lot of people can't even do that

Yea I forgot about the resets. It's nice to know I'll get another chance if I fall too low.

And thanks for the words of encouragement!
According to the stats of the last phase, 1500 MR was the most common. Figure it was a lot of people that got master and left it at that

If I had to guess from last phase, the average was probably in the 1450-1550 MR range. This phase's average might increase slightly since players are hitting 1900+ MR faster

What is the cause of players hitting high MR faster this phase? Has Capcom increased gains?

The top/high level players just getting better slowly. As players figure the game out more, the ceiling for ranked is only gonna get higher. Legend rank is also an incentive for some players to keep grinding ranked

Like 30% of the master population is within 10 points of 1500 which is people who basically quit as soon as they got promoted.
There are 19000 players above that range and 24000 below it.
People who climb right away after getting promoted are pretty rare and were probably people who had like 65%+ winrates when they got in.
In every rank before master you were placed at the bottom of the rank when you got promo'd in. Here you get dumped somewhere near the middle so most are going to go down at first.

Average player rank is just higher. Non-master players didn't lose rank so the proportion of players at entry level MR increased (and the quality thereof went down, I assume). SF6 also has intrinsic inflation since you get more points for winning than you lose for losing.

I've seen 1200 MR Masters, ignore the number, have fun and improve.
