Theory: Many of the online players are actually BOTS
I'm actually half-convinced that many of the online players are either outright bots, or that bots take over after the match-up screen, where the ping spikes over a certain threshold. My rationale:

• During the first ten "qualifying" matches, you get random bots to fight against; seemingly, where a player is not available -- discernable by the lack of a usernames...

• Given that a bot can be played online (see above), it tells us that the means to do this -- that is, for the game to, on the fly, switch to a bot -- is present in the game's coding...

• Players play too I D E N T I C A L L Y to all be humans -- every combo, movement, 'strategy' is, if not identical, so close to it that it just doesn't reconcile that so many scrubs share the same brain cell (even if the Internet does allow them all to copy one another much more easily than in the past); and when one factors in the dearth of character variety online, what sane person would keep playing a game that would likely consist of 33~50% mirror matches against 'players' doing the identical things that they are?! 🥴...

• Many usernames do not look realistic -- all slew of "FGC..." (how many players are in an official "FGC"? 🤨) and random, generic name + number type handles look distinctly randomly generated. Names are usually "xXSepiroth187Xx" and other infantile crap like that, or "John Smith" -- especially in casual orientated games like SF6...

• The game's ping is nonsensical, even considering the spaz fest that "roll-back" net code inherently renders online play -- 0~50ms drops far more inputs than 100~150ms; and when a 300ms match shows no obvious gameplay lag, it means that a bot has to have taken over the player and/or the opponent was a bot to begin with (at higher latency, the game either slows down, or it re-syncs in very obvious ways)...

• The broken reaction speeds for counter-DI's -- sometimes, without even using a single, solitary DI for 90% of a match, one gets thrown out in the middle of a heady mash of a rote combo, only for it to be INSTANTLY counter-DI'd -- within milliseconds -- and this from opponents who aren't even playing well per se or demonstrating any similar reactions prior to the DI counter/s...

• Some very suspiciously rote gameplay patterns -- e.g., standing back and throwing incessant fireballs > stopping, and walking forward like a zombie > repeating this pattern > then, if a free combo opportunity arises, instantly dealing an 80% scrubo... No way one is likely to play this way in a game like SF6, unless they are using bot scripts (player spams from round start > if nothing happens, walks to within combo distance > hits combo script > if it misses, rinse-repeat > if it lands, keep hitting more combo scripts)...

• The conspicuous lack of any means of communication with opponents -- a sure fire sign that the developers do not want players comparing what is occurring on screen in their respective game screens (I knew of a game that was busted for replacing players with bots, after players connected chat via IM, and noticed their games weren't doing the same thing)...

In a way, I hope the game is now just the 90% bots and script users that it feels so much like it is, because if this is what the game actually is -- in human versus human play -- it's a far worse indictment on it than if it were just bots and cheaters 😑

You're 100% correct, your trophy is in the mail.

Ryu wouldn't make all these excuses for a loss. Ryu would train.

Be like Ryu.

Ah, I see you're not part of the CDC, the Check Dictionary Community, because you seem to not know what 'community' means.

The Battle Hub has text comms.

The number of people who want to play with you, beat you, and then receive a turgid response of many paragraphs that sum up to "you play better than me so you're a bot", is very likely so close to 0 that Capcom is completely correct to not implement e.g. voice chat as in MK1.

Ryu would quite literally shame anyone who take the lazy way out *cough* "Modern" *cough*.

Be like Ryu.

I suspect Ryu would shame people for being rude to their opponents. We should all be like Ryu, in that regard.

Pretty sure Ryu would want to master every fighting style so he's ready for everything.

It's kinda sad how the same people who are so worried about "accessibility" are also the same people who are completely okay with zero human communication with one another. I can't imagine being so neurotic and disillusioned that I would advocate or be happy with the fact that players cannot communicate with each other, even though in 99% of games communication is consensual and can be muted for those that are disabled by their crippling shyness.

This game might as well be a single player game vs adaptive AI. You wouldn't even know otherwise. Nor do you care to.

I don't spend my time worrying whether online opponents are AI, no.

Type Buy street fighter 6 account into google If you need proof.
There are bots, and they are farming and selling the accounts just like a MMORPG.
Very weird for a fighting game. Some as high as 600$, just insane.
Just imagine how pathetic you would have to be to buy an account someone (most likely a bot) ranked up for you at that price.

Capcom should do something about it.
But they won't just like they won't police there own artwork sections for their games on steam.

Not gonna lie at times it does feel like im fighting a bot, especially when the opponent goes from not being able to punish anything to punishing damn near everything. Can whiff punish damn near everything but cant AA.

Eveyplayer using the same playstyle, walk backwards kite into a hitconfirm or dr combo rinse repeat, no real fighting over space.

I fought OP in Iron and can confirm they're a bot.
