I don't think platinum is something worthwhile here. Platinum in SF6 is a necessary minimum. It's like saying: I learned how to press buttons in the right sequence. Doesn't sound very cool, does it?
My Chun-Li is platinum ranked. It's probably the worst Chun-Li in the whole world! It's hard for me to imagine anyone playing for Chun-Li worse than me xD
Well, the majority of the SF6 playerbase is not strong enough to make it to Platinum. It doesn't count the "New Challenger" rank either, and there are players that play Chun that are nowhere near your rank. This is easily checked by CFN's own data, you can check your rank against every Chun player in the world, or your region, and i could bet all 4 limbs there are at least 3,000 players worse than you even in your region if I were a betting man. Platinum for me is good enough a stopping point because if you go on a long enough streak in your placements, you will fight a master rank player or two depending on if you beat the first one.
Anyway, I wish you a speedy recovery.
She requires a huge amount of practice. It is interesting for its potential.
Shame the same can't be said for others such as, say, Honda.
A. K. I. looks gimmicky as heck, and more like a char. that will end up mostly annoying to fight (like vs. JP), than fun or a challenge. I can see everyone either rushing her down to stop projectile spams (like vs. JP), which will make every fight awfully predictable (like vs. JP) and/or a roll of the die (like vs. JP) -- get in > you win; don't get in > you lose (like vs. JP).
As far as I can see, the only thing she has going for her are her animations... Even her face is rather disconcerting ("Ada Chinese" is fine; "1920s era caricature Chinese" is...). Most of these new creations really do not lend themselves well to being in a SF game -- more like from some obscure SNK title from the 90s. Frankly, I'm more interested in season-2's offerings, and I hope Crapcom do some reveals in early 2024 as such. For, that will largely determine whether or not the game remains installed after Tekken 8 is out...
