At the low ranks i.e Rookie-Bronze just brute force your way towards the competition with jumping attacks, Drive Impact and auto combos.
When you finally get hard stuck on Silver then it's time to learn other tricks and tactics such as anti-airs, parries, Drive Rush, jab x3, counter Drive Impact, knowledge against zoning i.e a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ patience, the neutral game plus the general footwork and mInD gAmEs (that only contribute to your mental stack). Avoid jumping non-stop, as well. These will carry you to Gold.
If you actually manage to leave Gold, though (not easy like the internet pRoS make you believe) and reach Platinum then you just mix and match for low Platinum is anything goes territory (you either find complete noob scrubs without any idea of what they're doing or tournament champions since day one).
And you don't really need any advice if you leave Platinum.
If we're stressed we forget about any tip and mess up, btw. Anger always gets to us, sooner or later. So good luck.
