I've blocked a LOT of players...

I'm not going to give the number, just yet. But it's a lot. More so than I've EVER done, in my entire 45+ year Video game career. (how did we block players back in the 80s and 90s? Well, when we went to the Arcades, we paid close attention to who was playing, and if there was a player we were "blocking", we would wait until they left, or on some extremes, we would just lose our quarter and just walk away, if he challenged us. Or keep track of when they would typically show up. Or, just avoid the place altogether, sometimes. The point was to avoid that player at all costs.)

This time around, I've been blocking players for multitude of reasons. Ranging from: Blocking every Ken-Modern player, right off the bat. Blocking spammy players, with spammy characters, like Jaime, Marisa, or Kimberly. Blocking because they are WAY too skilled for whatever rank we were playing at - leading me to believe they were a much higher rank before, or they lose on purpose every now and then to lower their ranks? I dunno. Because I hate their play style, especially with the cheap characters. And overall, just blocking them because I just don't wish to play them ever again - I don't want to put myself through the emotional turmoil, and heartache that they put me through, even if I were to "get better".

How are you guys handling this? Are you also blocking a bunch of players? Or do you go the opposite route? Or do you contact them and tell them off? What seems to be the new normal, nowadays?

SF5 have black list limit. Near 200 slots only. If you reach the limit - you can`t block more. You need unblock someone for empty slots.
Who knows, may be devs added limit into this game too

The OP and many of the responses make no sense. I get blocking rage quitters, but blocking people because they're better players, you don't like their characters, or because they use modern controls? That's just ruining the game for yourself. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Blocking players because they use characters, playstyles, controls, etc. that are allowed but you don't like is what 'scrub mentality' literally means. My ranks is quite low (bronze), but I can tell that I deserve it and not iron because I accept any rival expectable in the game: Ken exists in SF6, so I have to accept to fight any Ken I find, there are people who spams projectiles so I must learn to counter them, etc.

So the only players I block are rage quiters (although most of them are also scrubs).

Blocking every M player. Once my list gets full i will be done with this trash can of a game. I'm sick of DR related input drops and players using built in macros. Fk SF6 srsly.

agree, at the end of the day it didnt made you a better player. It's just give you a reason to justify your lost. Cant believed someone who got the blocked list up to 100 and then planning to removed some of the players just to blocked others again lmao. I dont want half of my time playing SF6 is just removing and blocking people

This is why in Japan they have the head to head system instead so that when there's two rows of 10 cabs each it's much harder to tell who's playing on which cab so you just play the damn match. Stop pinning your own faults on others.
