Deluxe edition just gives you the character pass and some recolors, right? So is $25 for 4 characters worth it to you? That's like $6.25 each. In SFV, characters were $5.99 (according to IGN, I didn't play back then) but presumably SF6 characters will be more expensive since they have more content this time around.

Personally, the character I want to main is already in the standard edition, so for me the character pass isn't really worth it. Only one I might want is Akuma, and even then I still might not buy him. I think the question you should be asking yourself is if there's any character you want in the deluxe edition that'll be worth it to you.

Depends on where you buy it. Sites like Fanatical and Green Man Gaming have a reduced price for the game right now (about $51 for standard, and $72 for Deluxe). I'll probably go Deluxe because I'm mainly interested in World Tour, and I believe the DLC characters will show up as Masters there (so DLC characters = more moves for my create-a-character).

I liked the demo, I like Street Fighter, but I'm not digging the sales model. They have to do better than a concept like "Buy deluxe and get new colors you can add"

You get the season pass for the next four characters as well. The colours are for the pre-order, which is fine because nothing meaningful should be hidden behind a pre-order.

I'm expecting alternate costumes to be something like A$20 or something.

Season Pass and Character Pass are different. The Character Pass, which you get with the Deluxe Edition, just has the characters (and recolors for the base outfit). The Season Pass, which is included in Ultimate Edition, gets you the Character Pass, 2 new Stages, and 2 new outfits (+ recolors) for the DLC characters.

I just preordered the Ultimate Edition, because it offers something over Deluxe - colors I think - and I want to get in on the ground floor, and I don't want to miss anything on this Street Fighter.

I don't care about outfits and colors, but I want access to all characters and stages and since deluxe comes with year 1 characters and ultimate comes with 2 additional stages (besides the characters), my constant doubt is if it's cheaper to buy the base game and then purchase characters and stages separately or if it's cheaper to purchase deluxe/ultimate.
Is it even posible to purchase stages separately btw?
