Ranked Mode For Custom Characters???
I get that there has to be a mode where it is just like classic street fighter titles, with no custom character; but are we getting ranked for custom characters?

Honestly, feels like a waste of the character creator if not.

Created characters in the trailer look cringe AF. I hope you can completely exclude any interactions with them if you want to.

From what we've seen, custom avatars will be available for use in World Tour and Battle Hub modes exclusively. There's also no footage of them being used in matchmaking, much less ranked. So the assumption right now is that they will not be useable in ranked altogether.

they look as bad as the person makes them. That'll be most people since most people are bad at making good characters.

Honestly, i think it is sad people take things too seriously in videogames..They're acting like it is a sport or something, not a toy to be played with.

I actually find it hilarious that SC6 allowed customs in ranked and would enjoy if the main ranked mode did have customs, but i get that the sweats who think games are serious would cry if they did something fun.

Yes, you will be able to use your Avatar to fight other Avatars online. I doubt there will be a ranking system, but they have confirmed that it is indeed possible.

I'm not one of those people that would get upset with the inclusion of customs in ranked. Personally I couldn't care less. That being said, did you see the Avatar Battle Trailer? Kimberly's Hidden Variable (her teleport move) into SPD is craaazy. I'll absolutely drop matches to that for a while until I can adapt lol.

I mean, ranked for custom avatars doesn't have mean custom avatars fighting normal characters. It could just be its own custom character only thing. That said, there is a difference between ranked where you can drastically customize character's appearances and ranked where you can customize their moves. SC6 custom characters and SF6 custom character aren't the same thing.

There were SC6 players complaing because custom characters can have sizes and shapes that affect the gameplay. Two cases I've heard:
- A super small character harder to hit.
- A cube that covered the rest of the character, so you couldn't see the animations of his attacks.

Just in case, I prefer custom characters for informal matches.

The difference ultimately boils down to balancing. Suddenly balancing becomes significantly more difficult if customs are allowed in ranked.

I'm still not against it.. Is it impossible to balance? Sure, but that goes for every iteration of street fighter. Perfect balance does not exist.. It is unobtainable.

I just get annoyed when i see games trying to be "esports" instead of games. Like, Nintendo seem to understand this, and they've had a lot of success with a fun focused formula.

Most gamers are here for the fun. Honestly, wasting a game on some delusion that the balancing would be so damaged from customs mistakes how bad balancing is in fighting games without customs.

Yes, there will be a meta that everyone uses, nothing changes.

Devs who leave things out of games because they believe they're too inept to balance them just shows they're not good enough to achieve something better. It is cowardice on their part, and we just get the same cookie cutter garbage over and over. Can we get some devs with some actual balls please?

To be fair, the cubes covering peoples animations was only available if you actively used cheats to create the character and edited the size values through something like cheat engine. Bamco is HORRENDOUS about anti-cheat in their games (I mean they literally just don't have any for games like tekken 7, any of their anime games, dark souls, elden ring, ect.) Capcom is generally a bit more strict and picky about those kinds of programs being open while their games are running, even if not even injecting code.

Some people used the cheat engines to actually add cool features and make really unique characters in SC6, but SC6 is a pretty unloved game, by a generally crappy publisher, with no competitive scenes outside of the EU in small pockets.
