Is there a way to play without relying on hit confirms?
I've seen a video where a Japanese guy explained the differences between SF5 and 6. A guy explained it in English. And one portion was talking about how hit confirms are a smaller part of the game in SF6.

It's this video:

I think hit confirms have been my weakness. Is there a way to play without using it much?

What do you guys think?

There's a lot of character who don't really rely on hit confirms, but even then all you need is to confirm your strings. A single normal into special have always been hard to confirm but there's much easier alternative now with drive rush.

SF6 isn't played with hit confirms like 5. Don't worry about those things.

Cool, good to know.
Can you elaborate about drive rush being used as an alternative?

No, but you'll be better at the game if you practice hit confirming. You don't need to be amazing at it immediately, but afaik every character has ways to easily hit confirm using things like target combos or stringing multiple lights together.

You can practice it in training by setting the dummy to random block, and just trying to confirm into a full combo whenever you see them get hit. Not every move is hit confirmable and some moves are way harder than others to do it from, so start by something easy like hit confirming from a string of two crouching lights or something.

I'm gold with Dhalsim and I don't even know what a hit confirm is.

Hit confirming is when you hit an enemy, and then you react to visually seeing them get hit by going into a combo.

If you ever see a term that's unfamiliar, use Infil's fighting game glossary[glossary.infil.net]. It's a really useful resource.

To start with Dhalsim just learn the angle each of his normals comes out at.
