- if opponent doesn't attack, you lose meter and get punish thrown (extra damage)
- counter attacking after a parry has 50% scaled damage from the start
now, if you're talking about single player, then do whatever you want, it really doesn't matter
Okay, is that worse than being in block stun?
So if i dont play against a command grab character, all i need to do is watch the distance and parry is always the better option over block, is it not?
No, because the recovery is a very significant downside to block. Say you hold parry in a distance the opponent can just jump and throw. You would not be able to anti-air normally as you need to wait until you finished the parry recovery, which is long. If you hold block, your anti-air goes out immediately.
Terrible use of meter imo, but that's just my opinion.
