Suggestion on Controller ?
Just using a series X controller currently , I’m not the hugest fan of the Dpad on it though, especially for fighting games.

I was thinking about doing a fight pad perhaps? Does anyone have a suggestion? Sort of new to the fighting game world so I’m a little lost

the series X dpad is actually amazing for fighting games, I can say this with confidence as I've tried many different pads including pads designed for fighting games over the years and am using a Series X pad now. The playstation dpads have been decreasing in quality with every new iteration, the DS5 pad finally crossed the line for me and I quit using them. I say just stick with it because it doesn't get much better than that and your thumb will also thank you.

I can't say much for fighting pads, but for a controller I'm using the Xbox Elite Controller. (1 or 2 doesn't matter they're both the same, physically anyway.) It comes with 4 detachable underside paddles for 4 extra inputs, 3 profiles for them, but also comes with two detachable D-pad plates, one circular the other more directional. You can also use the d-pad with no plate if you prefer. Regardless of how you use it, the D-pad seems to have a clicky tactile feeling, and even the circular plate makes it easy for more direct inputs than other controllers with horrible D-pads that aren't even circular.

You might want to try and feel one in a store if you get the chance. I'm sure there's better options unbeknownst to me, but I lean more on the casual side of the fighter genre and just want a decent controller for everything, and I think the Elite fits the bill.

I am a newcomer to sf and all the arcade stick stuff. I bought 2 different arcade sticks just for sf6 and will be most likely getting the new leverless that razer will release soon (leverless=hitbox style). I have never touched arcade sticks etc before so I still have to get used to it but it is fun to use.

I use a hori fight pad or a stick. DualShock 4 is the most popular option, or the dual sense, but I hear complaints about the d-pad on that one.

Thanks for the replies everyone! I guess I’ll stick with the Xbox controller for now. I do have a dual shock 4 and a dual sense laying around. I’ll try those out too
