(JK, I know what you mean)
Lol. I know.
Has she been officially revealed as a Transgender or is Capcom leaving as her a mystery to solve..?
Either way. I love me some Poison!
I know!!!
Just add them all!!!
They are fun to play!
She isn't the first "trans character" capcom has never confirmed that and it's merly speculation from some desperate people. otherwise she is an actual woman.
You'll have to point out where that is stated.
They did confirm it, multiple times in fact. The gist of the situation is that Capcom got criticized for female bad guys in "Final Fight" so they said in support material that Poison and Roxy (the character names) were men who were unusually good at cross dressing and had their junk pinned up which was slowing them down. This was all elaborated on (such as the bit with their junk) in some of the comic books. That said both Poison and Roxy were defined as men who considered themselves lesbians and hated other men (yes this is weird) and were also in love. They used their money working for various gangs to first get trans surgery which didn't go further, and then eventually hired on with more powerful organizations like Shadoloo in exchange for genetic engineering which made them actual women despite starting as men as well as allowing them to regain their youth. They had been active since the 80s in a literal sense.

For those who read this far (I know many hate reading ), I will say that there have been leaks in certain fan circles that Poison will be released NEXT YEAR, sometime in the first quarter. Apparently their plans are to do Street Fighter 6 in phases, and the first expansion is simply this year's content. Next year they plan a new expansion pack which is going to included Haggar, Cody, Guy (references as Kimberley's master), and Poison, along with new RPG content focusing on a return by The Mad Gear gang when the original Final Fight crew is older (much like the Street Fighter Cast) and needs the player hero to do a lot of the heavy lifting. It is unknown if Poison (who might be young from genetic engineering, that is a plot point from comics) is going to be redemptive as per Street Fighter Vs. Tekken, and helping the good guys, or acting as the boss of the gang.... speculation seems to be leaning that it's likely to be the latter, but time will tell.
According to this alleged leak, along with the RPG content, they will also be releasing a new game mode which will be "free" to anyone with the base game, and it will be inspired by "Tekken Force" basically a brawler of the "Final Fight" style featuring the new gang so you can fight through a storyline that way. Supposedly though to get the RPG version (the actual story) you need to buy the pack, and that is also the way you get the actual Final Fight characters. Basically the free stuff is just a few brawler levels according to this.
At any rate, this could be entirely false, but it's what I heard, and I was just chatting with someone about it a couple hours ago, that said it's all "friend heard from this guy who works for capcom on social media and then the post was taken down" type stuff, so while it sounds like something that could happen, its in no way confirmed. Allegedly this game is planned for a 5 year cycle, and they want each major pack to expand the game like this, and that is next year's plan.
That's a really weird story, but in video games they can magically become woman.
it feels like how that off brand SNK game that made terry a woman.
In short, no, street fighter does not have a trans character, and never will, they actually want their characters to be real women and look attractive. So anyone can cope all they want.
Yeah, that was confusing part, as the US looks for any excuse to have a character be trans. she has always been a woman in every sense. looking at her as a "trans character" is just odd.
Because she's technically not, it's just USA has a pure desperation and will refuse to not see it because they badly want a trans character in any mainstream game. so i had my question answered, capcom never directly stated it, you have to dig in the story of another game and piece together obscure words and tell everyone it's true.
Poison, as stated by her creator that it is a real woman, and not a "trans character" but i'm leaving this subject alone now as it just attracts these weirdos to respond.
Overall poison is a pretty mid tier character and there is nothing special about her.
According to the book All About Capcom Head to Head Fighting Games and Final Fight director Akira Nishitani, the characters were originally planned to be cisgender women, but were changed to "newhalfs" (a Japanese slang term for trans women) after the game's release,[21][22] due to the suggestion that "hitting women was considered rude" in America and the concern that feminist groups would sue.[7][14] However, concept artwork included in the 2005 compilation Capcom Classics Collection of the pair specifically uses the kana for 'newhalf' (ニューハーフ), contradicting the statement the change occurred post-release.[23] In 2007 Nishitani stated that he supposed the character "could be male", but added it was up to the viewer to decide.[7] He later clarified in a discussion on Twitter that in his personal view Poison was a woman.[24] Yasuda himself commented that as far as her gender, he considers her transgender in North American localizations, but cis in Japan.[en.wikipedia.org]
Later on we got this: Confusing the issue further, Poison’s designer Akira Yasuda considers the western version of Poison to be trans, and the Japanese version cis, according to the book Street Fighter X Tekken: Artworks. Meanwhile, Street Fighter producer Yoshinori Ono claimed in a 2008 interview with EGM that Poison is transgender in every version, but is post-op in the West and pre-op in Japan. [www.techradar.com]
So yes, Poison has been confirmed at this point as Trans by the designer and producer. Given that the producer of the game says that the Japanese version is pre-op, the most faithful version of Poison for Street Fighter 6 would be pre-op Poison with bulge. Let's go!
