Not sure if you are using classic though but I am using modern controls.

go on training room to do the charge moves you need to hold back or down, for 50? frames, in training room put on the screen buttons pressed, on the left side of the screen, you'll see a number near each button which are the frame it passed after pressing it helps in "feeling" how long is 50 frames, i stream sometimes if you need more help

What others said and You can also hold down+back to Charge kikoken and spinning kick at the same time

I'm no expert at charge moves but I can play charge characters. One of the things that was taught to me really mad the whole thing 'click'. It's the 'ABC's' - Always Be Charging. If you're sitting crouched as Chun Li and holding back, that still counts as you charging and you hold charge as you combo which is why you can spit out a Kikoken mid combo. IIRC it's 55 frames before the charge move is ready. But once you understand your ABCs, you won't feel as limited by the charge time.

Charge inputs on Modern still requires you to charge.

In the spirit of doing difficult things to improve, do you want to try adding punctuation to your typing?

Charge characters are an annoying gameplay mechanic. If it was up to me I'd remove the whole concept and just release the specials on a simple press. My two cents.

And just so you know, OP, a good player can telegraph such specials. Especially if you crouch from afar, when holding back. Which, ironically, it's what the game actually teaches you.

Charge players can also reinforce the importance of blocking to new players, who typically don't like to block.

Guile is a character I almost always recommend to new players. If you get good at Guile it requires a pretty good foundation in fundamentals.
