Yeah, it seems like more of an oversight.
I don't really get it why they did this tho...
Being unable to use 2 moves with the exact same input would be normal (but fixable here and there so you could edit your char in much better ways).
But with how it is right now, I don't even wanna bother anymore.
Since it's either use a broken char with a moveset that doesn't exist, or use a gimped char since you can't use the full specturm of an existing fighter.
Once you equip 4 or so special moves you're pretty much locked out of everything because there's not a ton of different motions. You've got quarter circle, half circle, full circle, charge and z motion.
I was so happy to get Marisa's Sparta Kick, so I could have a gap closer...
And nope, can't have the Sparta Kick and Gladius at the same time. :s
It's immensely limiting and I don't like it.
Do you think that's it?
I mean, I've had the same Idea, but since I don't have every move from every single char yet, I don't know if it's the same for everyone, or if you could equip every move from at least some chars.
Even if it's the case, I really hope they change it, cause again... they want this mode to ease you into this genre.
But I also wanna have the same introduction for the moveset of a single char, so I can learn it bit by bit, without gimping myself.
Someone made an interesting analogy that the world tour mode is just the start of the game and the rest of the content in the game is the 'Endgame' content. You might learn a few tricks from world tour, but training mode experimenting is the way to go once you reach a certain point
Exactly, it's a mode which is supposed to ease players into the game. And having a "you can't have a character who's just a copy of your mentor" seems like a pretty stupid limitation, since World Tour could be a great way to just practice a certain character. For instance, I really wanted to practice Marisa's moves while I play World Tour, but then the game prevents me from equipping her moves? What's the point of that? Especially since these characters are designed so their normals synergize with their special moves.
And then there's the added limitations which come from this whole "moves can't share motions" nonsense. Because what's the logic in preventing players from, say, equipping Ken's Hadoken and Chun-Li's Lightning Kicks?
its the game mode, entirely. for some reason they limit your custom characters potential.. whether its artificial difficulty or somehow an oversight? who knows..
