How to Classic control in casual match?

So I played a bit of arcade and everything's ok and I changed everything to Classic control in the options but when I try online casual match my controls are in Modern, how come?

you need to go to the other menu where it shows the characters/matchmaking stuff and switch to to classic for every single character. it genuinely is some of the worst UI i have ever seen.

Press Y/triangle when selecting your character and set it to classic there.

You can just hit y and do it for all of them.
