Windows 7 Patch incoming?
Anyone know of a Windows 7 patch available yet or in progress?

There are often workarounds to situations like this where the game only runs on modern operating systems, so I would like to think that it is quite possible that a compatibility patch might one day exist.

It happened with FFIXV, though that was more a simple fix to some TSL settings.

Steam itself is about to drop windows 7 and 8 support. I'd say it is unlikely.

It's likely the game will be operational outside of Steam, especially if purchased from a different place.
It's NOT always the case that just because a game is purchased on Steam ,that it REQUIRES Steam to be running.
Take Elder Scrolls 3 for example or Max Payne, I can run these games without Steam running, plus there are often .exe cracks to avoid such situations if you want to go that route.

Are you new to PC gaming or something little guy?

That is unrelated to this topic thanks.

The only hope is modders. I couldn't find info on any other RE Engine games running on Windows 7, so I have my doubts. You might consider trying out Linux. It doesn't have an "end of life" self-destruct mechanism. Now that Proton exists, pretty much any game works with it.

Don't worry about the sheep who parrot the corporate FUD about computer security. If the new Windows is so secure, why are they so worried about what other people are doing?

Capcom is already dropping support for their older games on that operating system kiddo.
Support for gameplay on any unsupported OSes can only be offered for previously known issues, and Capcom will not be able to troubleshoot any new issues.

why would they support a dead OS that doesn't have any security or software support?

clown all ya want WIN 7 is dead Microsoft abandoned it every software firm says its a security risk Google is your friend .

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-7-support-ended-on-january-14-2020-b75d4580-2cc7-895a-2c9c-1466d9a53962#:~:text=Support%20for%20Windows%207%20came,new%20PC%20with%20Windows%2011.

“If you continue to use Windows 7 after support has ended, your PC will still work, but it will become more vulnerable to security risks and viruses because you will no longer receive software updates, including security updates, from Microsoft.Oct 13, 2022

Put simply, if a new security vulnerability or software bug is uncovered in Windows 7, Microsoft is no longer obliged to release any sort of patch to fix the issue on the unsupported operating system; and that's something that could put individuals and organisations that still rely on Windows 7 in danger from cyberattacks, hacking and malware.

Aint dead yet

October 14, 2025
Windows 10 will reach end of support on October 14, 2025. The current version, 22H2, will be the final version of Windows 10, and all editions will remain in support with monthly security update releases through that date.
