Street Fighter™ 6
Do you think SF6 is better than the current best fighting games?
In your personal opinion, do you think it's better than Tekken 7, MK11, FighterZ, Strive, KoF15 and etc?

MK1 might be 100k+ in it's peak.

Thing is, Capcom did a stellar job marketing Street Fighter 6. We haven't even seen MK1 gameplay yet, and the teaser trailer kinda sucked. Tekken 8 is being marketed much better as well.

I think we will get a very aggressive marketing 1 month before its release.
I feel like SF VI currently delivers the best package for Average Joe in terms of presentation and accessibility. So one could say it was better than all other games you mentioned.

However, I can also see that it's not the best for everyone. People who want a more raw experience will find it to casual friendly. Some people will still think the graphics were too cartoony and prefer Tekken. Some people might now think the style was no longer cartoony enough and go for an anime fighter or KoF instead.

And then there is the issue of SF VI being at the beginning and having most fighters not in the game yet (aka sellout stage) while most of the other fighting games are at the end of their life cycle and you can pick them up as a complete package at a large discount.

In terms of graphics I feel like the characters in SF VI, their expression and the way they get battle worn, are currently the best on the market. Except the hair, I don't like the hair. Not detailed enough. But I was really disappointed with the stages and their effects. For example water looks really poor and I don't see any good lighting either.

In the end there probably is no easy answer to your question wehter SF VI is better than all other fighting games at this moment - depends too much on the individual user.

I don't know if MK1 will get up that high but at the same time never bet against Neatherealm because they always seem to exceed expectations in terms of success.

As for Tekken 8, I'm 50/50 on it how it'll do. On the one hand it's Tekken and Tekken always does well but at the same time existing history shows that every other mainline Tekken game from T3 onwards doesn't do nearly as well as the previous game.

Game - Sales

Tekken 3 - 8 Million
Tekken 4 - 2 Million
Tekken 5 - 8.2 Million
Tekken 6 - 3.5 Million
Tekken 7 - 10 Million

To be fair this is most likely a coincidence and there's nothing saying the pattern will repeat. The even numbered Tekken games also happen to be the ones that make changes or do things that fans of the series don't like or aren't really into, notably Tekken 4.

I think another part of it may be that so many casual fans buy one of the entries and then aren't hyped for the next one because they feel like they just played a new Tekken not that long ago or because they feel the new one doesn't look that much different from the previous one. By the time the Tekken game after that one comes out though it's several years later and those casual fans that skipped a game are probably ready for a new Tekken game again by that point.
no...it really lacks still in fluid animations, better combo structure, better new characters, better music kinda also...its good in terms of connection...but back in the day that was KI or injustice 2 which are superb games...was killer rank in KI and top 100 eu in injustice 2...but i was never a big SF guy...i find the combo structure cumbersome and not fun...the timings are way strict.i feel in SF that iam doing some just frames moves like in tekken. i dont think so that this modern controls will help newcomers in this game...its more confusing.the perfect parry is also too strict and way to risky to do it same like flawless block in mk11...will play sf6 until mk1 comes out probably with marisa becouse of the damage at least its fun when it hits...and then play mk1 until tekken comes out....shoutout also to soulcalibur6 in terms of mechanics which is a complete underated gem...
and yeah world tour is complete cringe in mk1 and tekken you will have a good campaign...also the new characters the girly ones is so annoiyng to fight with their over the top voices...even deejay with his hey hey hey its getting really annoying..

I think I prefer it to most of the fighting games I play (DOA, Tekken 7. Soul Calibur, MK11, Killer Instincts, KoFXIV), but maybe not an improvement on SFV.

I really enjoyed SFV and I can appreciate that this is a different take on the franchise, not an evolution or improvement.
Oh and my fave fighting game is still Injustice 2, which I would be playing now, if it wasn't a ghost town online.

Did you really just claim that SF6 is not an improvement over SFV? And people call ME the troll????
From what I could gather so far:
better than T7
worse than MK11, but by a small margin
better than FighterZ
in line with Strive
better than KOF XV (even tho personally SF6 reminds me of KOF XV more than any other game)

And my personal favorite - KI 2013 - SF6 is not even close. If only KI avoided being exclusive, and hit PlayStation and PC together with Xbox, it would be extremely successful.
Single player is better, soundtrack is better, netcode is godlike, all nine yards.

KI is something special isnt it....
I used to like fighting games as a child. But since then, they have become completely inaccessible to me. Spending weeks learning combos (which was as far away from fun as could be) just to not lose 99% of every match made me realize that it's probably the least accessible, most annoying genre for me that exists. Like, something I really wanted to like, and kept buying fighters here and there, and always realized I couldn't stand them.

I mean, fundamentally speaking, all games work on the same principle: you learn by playing, and playing is fun. But fighters were entirely different. It was impossible to learn AND have fun, it was either or. There were never any game modes that addressed the issue of different skill either. If you were the worse player, there was exactly one thing and one thing only you could do: watch as you get destroyed, over and over and over and over again. No mechanics to help catch up, nothing to make it fun for both sides. Just a one-sided stomp, every single time.

SF6 changed all that. The modern control scheme which initially I didn't want to like, made this the most accessible game to date. And the world tour? Omg the game is worth the price just for that alone, something I seriously hope we will see expanded upon in a future game. I mean can you imagine? An multiplayer World Tour with the same level of incredible customization, but where you have limited levels so you need to actually choose what styles you focus on, kick or punch or throw strength, drive or super or defense or health or offense, etc? Working kinda like GTAV where you can just meet and group up with other players, or have spontaneous matches?

I don't want to seem over-excited or anything but SF6 to me is the most stunning re-imagining of figher games since ever. I am so happy I was here to experience this game when it came out, when finally, after dozens of fighters I wanted to but could not like, I could play this. :>

So yes, to me it's so far beyond any other fighting game ever made it's like in a world of its own!
i don't know how i feel about sf6 yet, dint had time to play too much.

but for now i still like Strive better, and i say that even modern controls considered. Strive is more beginner friendly than SF6.

with that in mind, most beginners have zero idea what to improve, they all go "combos!" or "special moves!" or whatever flashy stuff.
when just learning to play defensively, do some poking, keep pressure and just using the strongest button for punishing is 10000x easier and would likely make them win a lot more.
It's the only other one that's grabbed me other than Killer Instinct, so in my very limited view, yeah, it's better than the current ones.

But I'm not the best sample size for the question. I'm still mostly a casual.

How would I describe that game... It's like Mortal Kombat without being brutal, and it's like Street Fighter without being colorful. It's spooky, yet wild. The game just hits all the right notes. I'm truly sad the game isn't way more popular.
