fight every mob, fight every npc nearby, upgrade your gear, enhance your gear, use the items that give permanent boost, utilize your skill points, stop fighting enemies higher levels than yourself unless you have the skills to do so.
took me roughly 18 hours to beat the main story.. now im trying to clear out the side quests and realizing you should do the side quests FIRST before the main story..
Give us NG+! Give us some repeatable endgame tasks and really long term goals!
So yeah, all the recommendations on gear, leveling up, utilizing items/summons are solid, no doubt. And while WT mode has alot of these RPG elements baked in, it also makes it blatantly clear -- from the very beginning, and alllll the way to the final chapters -- that this is maybe the most expansive FG tutorial of all time.
Now, I mention that specifically because I too had some issues with getting damage, even after finally unlocking a level 3 and dumping all available resources into a single combo... that just left me in burnout, with a hardly discernable chunk missing from the enemy's health bar >_>....
That is until I started approaching fights with a heavy focus on the 'pressure time' mechanic (agh, geez. .. what a terrible name 😮💨 ). I'm sure you're all aware of it: white flash, exaggerated slow recovery, yadda yadda... but it did make a huge difference, turning alot of fights from attrition-based slogs into patience-reward strategy.
Just dawned on me after seeing Alice and Co show up -yet again-, that they reaaally pushed that all game, almost to the point of excluding other approaches/playstyles, sadly. ANYWAY, def made a difference for me (especially when you get a solid, meterless bnb and start incorporating DI into wall splat setups 😈 ). Hope you all find this useful either way ^_^
